After dominating the UFC’s flyweight division, Demetrious Johnson flew to Thailand and dominated ONE Championship and is now their current flyweight champion. Furthermore, UFC color commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan had always spoken highly of ‘Mighty Mouse’. He believes that Johnson’s fighting style is one of the greatest expressions of martial arts.
Demetrious Johnson was the inaugural flyweight champion in the UFC. He went on to successfully defend the title on eleven occasions. He has achieved almost everything in his 16-year MMA career.
Joe Rogan comments on the GOAT debate involving Demetrious Johnson

The 55-year-old commentator and podcast host believes that there are certain arguments that suggest Demetrious Johnson could be the greatest MMA fighter ever. He said, “There’s an argument that ‘Mighty Mouse’ is the greatest expression of martial arts in the history of combat sports.” Joe Rogan even claims that he is ready to make those argument if others do not.
He mentioned how good Johnson was in his prime as a fighter. Rogan added, “In his prime, he is the greatest expression of elite athletes, and he’s a ghost. He’s standing right in front of them, he’s tagging them and he’s a ghost. His footwork is magical.” Rogan then mentions how Johnson defeated Adriano Moraes in the same fashion the latter defeated him in their previous meeting. “It was a repeat of what that guy [Moraes] did to him,” said the 55-year-old.

Rogan has always been a big fan of Demetrious Johnson and never shies away from mentioning how good of a fighter he is. He also mentions that ‘Mighty Mouse’ is a very natural athlete. “From the 125-pound division, to be competing at the very high level, [he’s] a natural athlete in his 30s.”
Demetrious Johnson has surely etched his name as one of the greats in mixed martial arts history. He holds a UFC record for the most finishes in the flyweight division to date. Furthermore, Johnson is also behind UFC Hall of Fame inductee Anderson Silva for the most title defenses in the promotion’s history.

‘Mighty Mouse’ is gearing up for the trilogy fight against Adriano Moraes on May 5. He also claimed that he might consider retirement after the fight even though he has a couple of years left in his contract. We will have to wait and see what follows.
