It seems like another UFC fight has found itself gripped with controversy. Bantamweight contender Garrett Armfield lost a close fight to Ukrainian counterpart Serhiy Sidey on the prelims card of UFC Edmonton, but the result’s not sitting right with him. As such, Armfield has called out UFC CEO Dana White, and even Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for help.
The Garrett Armfield vs Serhiy Sidey fight went through all three rounds, with the latter bagging a split-decision victory. However, the American fighter seems to believe that there’s some conspiracy going on among the judges, following which he urged Dana White and Donald to “investigate” them through a message on Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter).
“Investigate these judges. Half my pay with this inflation. Someone call [Donald Trump and Dana White],” Garrett Armfield tweeted. Besides, there have been more than one instance when fighters have questioned judges’ scores, but do you think Dana White will look into Armfield’s request?

Meanwhile, it doesn’t seem like Garrett Armfield is in the wrong for asking Dana White’s help regarding the decision of his UFC Edmonton clash. Why? Well, his opponent would later speak to the media and even he believed that he was losing that fight before getting handed the win. Let’s see what Serhiy Sidey had to say.

Will Dana White investigate the judges after Serhiy Sidey’s post-fight comments?
Serhiy Sidey agrees that his fight was a very close one, but he wasn’t expecting to be in the winning column at Edmonton. The 28-year-old claims that anybody could have won the fight judging by how the first two rounds of his clash against Garrett Armfield went down. Sidey even thought that after the fight, he had lost the third round as well. But to his surprise, he bagged the split-decision victory.
What’s your perspective on:
Is UFC judging becoming a farce, or does Armfield have a legitimate gripe with his loss?

“First two rounds, you know, very close. I might have edged those out. Lost that third round. When the judges were scoring the scorecard, personally I thought I lost, I’ll be honest [about it], but I’ve got to rewatch that fight,” Serhiy Sidey stated in the post-fight interview. He went on to add that fighting Garrett Armfield was the toughest thing he’s done so far, and he understands that he needs to make certain adjustments after how the fight went down in Edmonton.

Nevertheless, Serhiy Sidey believes that he did take Garrett Armfield to the limit, which is the reason he earned his win. “I know I hurt him real bad in the first two rounds, had some very close submissions. So, you know, I got a split decision,” Sidey added.
Dana White has called out judges for the apparent errors in their judging, with UFC 306 being the most recent instance. But how far are the boss and the UFC execs willing to go to settle this ongoing issue? Well, that remains to be seen. Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
