In a recent episode of the Ariel Helwani show, Tim Simpson, partner and the Senior Vice President of Paradigm Sports, hinted at a possible return for McGregor in the form of a title shot. This should come as no surprise, given McGregor’s natural talent to drive a fight’s hype from scratch.
Despite his difficulties in the game itself, he still happens to be the number one fighter that most fight fans want to see.
Tim Simpson stated, “See what happens in the title fight… I don’t know. The thing with Conor is, he’s always had options right, so he will have options when he’s ready, and um, you know, regardless of everything else that’s going on in the division, he sells.”
“He could fight anybody and it’ll sell. And regardless of what I guess could be said is right for the division, in the end, business rules and he could step into that title fight if he wanted to, so we’ll see. We’ll see. There’s some steps to go before there.”
What’s next for Conor McGregor?
Conor McGregor’s trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier ended with a horrific snap of his leg leading to a doctor’s stoppage. This was also McGregor’s last fight to date.
Mystic Mac’s tenacity to promote the very next fight just as he broke his leg is a wonder to behold. Therefore, his claims of a return soon should not be a surprise to fight fans worldwide.

Despite talk of him returning to the cage sometime soon this year, Conor McGregor seems to be having a lot of fun with his family and friends. Assuming that he is still looking to fight for the title on his return, he should face current lightweight champion, Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira.
Based on Oliveira’s comments, the Brazilian champion is more than willing to take up the money fight. However, he needs to beat Justin Gaethje first.
