What is the most crucial skill in MMA? Is it having a formidable chin and the ability to absorb blows so that you can just unload blows as a slugger? It would definitely remind you of the likes of Nate Diaz. Or is it technical striking like Dustin Poirier or the dominant grappling like Khabib Nurmagomedov? Or is it the ability to listen to the corner and execute the game plan with success?

If the visuals of a viral clip are to be referred to, it’s definitely the last one. Joe Giannetti garnered eyeballs when his year-old fight with Marcus Andrusia recently made waves on the internet. What did he do? A simple thing: listen and execute at his own will. Hence, giving fans a moment to cherish for ages to come.

Joe Giannetti called out and pinned his opponent

The 28-year-old turned around his career last year after witnessing a few tumultuous years that also included a TUF Season 27 Finale loss. However, he soon steered his career back to winning ways and made a mark when he made Andrusia tap out at 1:13 in the very first round at Cage Titans 54.

The dominant display made ‘Skeletor’ a force to be reckoned with, and now a different angle of his commanding win against Andrusia has come out. In the visuals, the American fighter is paying close attention to his corner. Meanwhile, he continues his hard-hitting ground-and-pound.

“His neck? Take his neck? Want me to take his neck? Alright,” the TUF alumni is heard saying. Following this, he tightens his grip around Andrusia’s neck and makes him tap out after trapping him in a guillotine choke.

How did the MMA fans react to Giannetti’s submission win?

The MMA fans were sent into a frenzy when they witnessed the sheer dominance Giannetti exhibited. A series of comments pointed out how Andrusia heard the corner’s instructions but gave up, nonetheless.

  • Lmao he called it out and he still didn’t defend it
  • Bro asked to finish him
  • Buddy just gave up
  • The fact that he knew what was coming, and didn’t even try to stop it lol

Someone wondered what happened to Giannetti’s career after his TUF stint. On the other hand, one fan expressed their excitement to catch the MMA fighter live in the UFC in the future.

  • Whatever happened to him? Enjoyed watching him on TUF
  • I can’t wait to see @giannettimma back in the ufc

Lastly, a comment drew a parallel with another recently concluded fight. They wrote, “Idk why people just don’t submit folks sometimes. Cejudo had a lot of opportunities to submit aljo a few months ago n never tried once and it just boggled my mind.”

Notably, Giannetti will take on Michael Dufort in his next fight at Cage Titans FC 61 on September 23. While he is on a 5-fight winning streak, Dufort is also coming into the fight on the heels of an impressive record of 5-1 in his last six fights.
