“For all of you who hate Bryce Mitchell, you get to see him hopefully get his a– whooped on global television,” Dana White said after Bryce Mitchell‘s ArkanSanity podcast controversy.  The UFC CEO had a PR disaster in his hands after Mitchell’s pro-Hitler comments. The controversy might be slowly dying down, without damaging the UFC’s reputation much, but now, White has an opportunity to give fans what they truly want – watch Mitchell “get his a– whooped.” How? Enter Jean Silva!

According to Daniel Cormier, the UFC CEO might be planning to pit Jean Silva against Bryce Mitchell. The featherweight star had called for the fight after his latest win at UFC Seattle. The Brazilian fighting nerd seemed to have taken an issue with Mitchell’s comments. But, for Cormier, Silva’s intentions are more opportunistic than altruistic. While speaking with Chael Sonnen on Good Guy/Bad Guy, Daniel Cormier pointed out that Jean Silva is targeting Bryce Mitchell because of the immense publicity surrounding Mitchell’s controversial comments about Hitler. Cormier suggested that defeating Mitchell would allow Silva to capitalize on the attention while portraying himself in a more positive light.

“Jean Silva understands that even though Bryce is getting horrible publicity, Bryce is still getting publicity,” said Daniel Cormier. He further added, “So, if you beat that man who’s getting any type of publicity, you will now get some of that, and you could take that shine and kind of move forward with it. For him right now, it would be the highest-profile victory of his career if he could get a Bryce Mitchell fight and win a Bryce fight.”

After Mitchell made those statements, Dana White lambasted him at a press conference by calling ‘Thug Nasty’s words nothing but beyond “Disgusting.” The UFC CEO emphasized that his fate would be decided in his next fight. Doubling down on this, Daniel Cormier emphasized that White was really unhappy with Mitchell, “And guess what, Chael? Bryce pi–ed Dana off so much that it may actually happen as a punishment for Bryce saying some of the things that he was saying.”

The UFC has a history of making fights where it seemed like they were trying to short a superstar’s stock, or where it was just a mismatch. Remember how Nate Diaz was supposed to fight Khamzat Chimaev in the former’s last UFC bout? To most fans, it seemed the UFC wanted Diaz to exit with a loss so that his stock would dip. Will they do the same for Mitchell, a UFC star who has suffered at the hands of the likes of Ilia Topuria and Josh Emmett, with another heavy hitter like Jean Silva?

The opportunity has presented itself it seems. Why? Well, because after knocking out Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Seattle, ‘Lord’ fired off at Mitchell, who was more than happy to respond.

“I think that Bryce Mitchell is somebody who would (lead to) a very good renewed contract if I beat him. Also, he’s a guy who fought Ilia and took him to the brink. It was toward the end of the round. He’s a tough opponent that can be dangerous. As far as everything else (that Mitchell said recently), I think there are things that you can’t tolerate, especially when you’re a public persona and you say them out loud,” said Jean Silva in the post-fight press conference.

“[There’s] only one LORD. and it aint u fool… u needa country a– whoopin. it will humble u just rite,” Mitchell wrote on X in response. Silva’s response? “Ok ok, but I’m gonna beat you until you see the earth is round.” A jab at Mitchell being a staunch flat earther.

Riding a 12-fight winning streak, Jean Silva has finished 93% of his opponents and has been a dominant force within the promotion. Meanwhile, ‘Thug Nasty’ is known for dragging his opponents into deep waters. A clash between these two stalwarts would mean mayhem, given that things are already fired up.
