Ever heard the phrase “an unstoppable force against an immovable force?” This was what defines the upcoming grudge fight between Bryce Mitchell and Jean Silva at UFC 314. Well, not to take away from the duo’s elite stature as MMA juggernauts, but this bout in particular has been in constant buzz for very different reasons. Leading up to the Miami PPV, the 145fers have traded biblically laced verbal jabs against each other, and the entire MMA world is waiting to see what will happen when they ultimately collide at the Kaseya Center on April 12th.
Ever since ‘Thug Nasty’ faced significant backlash amidst his praise for a certain Nazi dictator, he has struggled to settle down. Although he regretted the remarks, things have yet to cool down for him. To add to his misery, ‘The Fighting Nerds’ export pulled the crowd against him at the UFC 314 press conference. This ultimately led the Arkansas native to take his Instagram handle and accuse the Brazilian of sending a “legion of demons” to torment him. Even after several days of that press conference, Mitchell still holds on to the belief that his opponent Jean Silva is a “demon” and that he is going to beat the literal “hell” out of him.
The verbose 145fer while speaking to Jake Shields said: “What prompted him to maliciousness in the press conference when I brought the name of Jesus up? When a Christian is talking about Jesus, you never! You never interrupt with cursing, with maliciousness. If another Christian talking about Jesus, and he knows about Jesus, I said Jesus’s name, and he responded with maliciousness. He’s demonic! He’s no Christian! But he still has hope! You know, after I beat the ‘he-l’ out of him, maybe he will wake up and his demons will be free. I’m gonna quite literally beat the he-l out of him brother.”

For the unversed, Mitchell had this to say on his Instagram right after the presser. “Every single night since the day before the press conference, I’ve had demonic dreams. Legions of demons are attacking me every single time I sleep, and not one time have I seen any peaceful sleep since that day. These demons surround me and they try to fight me and provoke me to anger and then the dream will switch and they’ll send beautiful women and they’re trying to get me to lu-t. To cheat on my wife. Satan’s using two of my weaknesses to try and expose the evil in my own heart, which is anger and lu-t.”
Mitchell’s statement about his opponent caught a lot of attention. People interested in this fight started drawing out conversations about ‘Thug Nasty’s potential mind games before the ultimate clash. But, Jean Silva didn’t overlook Mitchell’s remarks about him. Instead, he fired back!

Jean Silva responds to Bryce Mitchell’s statements
Jean Silva didn’t waste any time to swiftly push back against Bryce Mitchell’s remarks. Taking to ‘X’, the Brazilian pointed out that his opponent is resorting to antics because he’s actually frightened to confront him inside the Octagon.
“Bryce, two things, these are not demons, it’s just you being afraid to face me, and second about the beautiful women you have a hormone called testosterone and you probably have problems with it.” Silva wrote. “Just be ready for April 12th, because I will be.”

Silva’s entry into the featherweight division has genuinely increased the excitement. He has overcome some tough contenders like Drew Dober and Charles Jourdain. So, a victory over Mitchell will definitely set him up for a high-profile clash against a top contender like Josh Emmet, Yair Rodriguez, or Brian Ortega.
The Brazilian is quickly ascending the rankings and if he secures two more victories against current divisional greats, then we might soon see him as a prime contender for the title. Who are you backing for his verbally charged UFC 314 PPV bout? Let us know in the comment section below!
