Is Conor McGregor's fighting career over, or does he have one last epic comeback in him?

Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has been waiting to return to action for a long time now. The Dubliner was all set to return to action at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. However, an untimely injury to his pinky toe forced him out of the bout against ‘Iron.’ Many expected that the fight would happen later this year, but Chandler will now be taking on Charles Oliveira at UFC 309.

Currently, Mystic Mac has no opponent lined up for him and is waiting to find one. Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub has come up with a unique potential opponent in Paddy Pimblett. However, he has one condition to make the fight happen.

Paddy Pimblett, for a long time, has drawn considerable attraction from the fans for his fighting style and performances. He also resembles Conor McGregor a bit in terms of his trash-talking. After his UFC 304 victory against Bobby Green, he solidified himself as one of the top contenders in the lightweight division. Currently, he is waiting for his next opponent, and Schaub feels he might take on Renato Moicano next. The former UFC fighter sat down for a chat on the ‘Weighing In’ podcast and spoke highly of the young fighter.

Schaub believes that ‘Paddy The Baddy’, with his impressive skills and recent performances, is a rising star the UFC is eager to promote. While he’s making strides toward a title shot, a victory over a top-10 fighter could solidify his position and attract McGregor’s attention. Schaub suggested that a win against Renato Moicano might pique McGregor’s interest in a potential matchup.

He added with regard, “And the way you are gonna get that done. Like my path to that major fight. Because Conor can fight anyone. Right like he dictates who’s he gonna fight. So to get Conor to bite on that fight Paddy has to get by the guy who won this past week. He needs that top 10 win to at least be in the top 10 because his star power is there. The fans have been eagerly waiting for McGregor’s return, and seeing him fight Pimblett might just be entertaining.
