The UFC has turned its attention towards the tail-end of 2021 and is releasing mouth-watering fight cards featuring a lot of returning fighters. With the likes of Khamzat Chimaev, Robbie Lawler, Nick Diaz all in line to return, another name in Jamahal Hill is also set for another trip into the octagon.
According to a news leak by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, UFC is setting up a fight between Jamahal Hill and Jimmy Crute. Both sides have agreed to sign the contract for the bout which is targeted for October 2.

Jamahal Hill is coming off a recent loss to Paul Craig at UFC 263. ‘The Bearjew’ finished him with brutal elbows while he was stuck in a triangle hold. ‘Sweet Dreams’ dislocated his elbow during the fight. It has now been fixed, allowing him to resume training.
Like Jamahal Hill, Jimmy Crute is also coming off a loss against his last opponent. At UFC 261, Crute, who fought Anthony Smith, suffered a calf kick in the opening round. The kick showed its immediate effects as Crute’s left leg completely gave out. In desperation mode ‘The Brute’ landed a takedown, buying some time to recover. Unfortunately, before the second round could start, the ringside doctor stopped the fight as Jimmy Crute’s left leg was compromised.
Comparison between Jamahal Hill and Jimmy Crute
Both the light heavyweights arrived from Dana White’s Contender Series. ‘The Brute’ Jimmy Crute defeated Chris Birchler in the first round via T/KO at DWCS 2.6 and earned a UFC contract; ‘Sweet Dreams’ Jamahal Hill, who was a part of DWCS 3.5, stopped Alexander Poppeck to earn his UFC contract.
Since their arrival, Crute has had six fights in the UFC with four wins and two losses. Meanwhile, Hill has put together a 2-1-0 (1 NC) record.
