The ‘Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis is one of the most entertaining fighters on the UFC roster. And his fans don’t like him away from the octagon for a long time. Heeding Lewis’ fans’ desires, the UFC has set up a high-voltage, entertainment-filled bout for the 36-year-old in his hometown of Houston, Texas in February.
According to a social media post by MMA Junkie, ‘The Black Beast’ will be fighting #11 heavyweight Tai Tuivasa at UFC 271 on February 12th. Notably, Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker will headline the event with their rematch.

The venue for the match will be Toyota Center in Houston unless there’s a change due to COVID protocols. Interestingly, in a conversation with UFC analyst Ariel Helwani, Lewis asserted he doesn’t want to fight in ‘pressure fights’ anymore. The former title challenger stated that he would prefer a bout against former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

Currently, ‘The Black Beast’ has returned to the win column after suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of Interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane at UFC 265. Lewis scored a first-round knockout win against former Philadelphia police officer Chris Daukaus at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Daukaus.

“I’m a massive fan of Derrick Lewis but I do this for the fans and I’d love to step in the cage with him one day but I think he’s a bit up from me at the moment, especially coming off his last win. But definitely, I’d love to fight Derrick Lewis,” ‘Bam Bam‘ told Helwani.
Well, he just got his wish granted and fans will get to see two knockout artists collide. While Lewis has 21 T/KO wins, Tuivasa has 12. Hence, it is clear that both men will go for the finish.
