Originally scheduled to face Michael Chandler at the conclusion of this year’s “The Ultimate Fighter Season” (TUF), McGregor’s absence from the testing pool led to the cancellation of the much-anticipated fight. Nevertheless, a recent Instagram post by McGregor has provided fans with a glimmer of hope. McGregor confirmed that he has submitted samples for testing to USADA, indicating his intent to return to the Octagon in the near future.

In his Instagram post, McGregor’s words were clear and unwavering, “Find my targets. Hit them. F**k the consequences. You’re going down. This is fighting. Sparring day with slick @grozdevnikolay. Always a banger of a spar with the slick fella. Submitted my stuff to Novitzky. Ball rolling ⚽️ See you soon, you little light work b**ch.”

According to McGregor’s statements, there is a possibility that he could make his comeback at UFC 300, as the testing protocols will likely have cleared him by then. Michael Chandler, McGregor’s intended opponent, also expressed optimism about the fight’s occurrence at UFC 300 in a recent interview.

McGregor’s rough road to UFC return

Conor McGregor has faced significant challenges on his journey to regain his previous form. Following his leg break in the Dustin Poirier fight, he underwent major surgery that resulted in the insertion of a titanium rod into his leg.

During an interview with Barstool Sports, McGregor emphasized the quality of the surgeons and doctors who contributed to his successful recovery. He stated, “I had the best surgeons, doctors and I got it back thank god and I am already back better than ever. I’m excited to be back, and the bionic knee and I have been dropping the guys with the back shot, I have been dropping them all.”
