Former light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka is ready to lock horns with the current light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira at UFC 303. Their initial bout ended in a defeat for the ‘Czech Samurai’ who was knocked out by ‘Poatan’ in the second round, however, this time Prochazka is ready to take in Pereira. Well, he might be ready to fight Pereira but he has one request. What’s that, you ask? The ‘Czech Samurai’ has urged Pereira to not use his shamanic rituals ahead of their bout.

Yes, you heard that right. Jiri Prochazka has accused Alex Pereira of using some sort of shamanic ritual ahead of his fights such that he will have the protection of the heavenly around him. It might be hilarious that it is coming from Prochazka. During a recent interaction with ‘The MMA Hour’, Jiri Prochazka explains that Pereira cannot defeat him if he fights purely on a human level without the use of any rituals.

“I think he believes a lot in the help of spiritual things, and that’s something that I think he can’t fight without because I want to keep that in a clear line. Just the sport performance, pure performance, man versus man, but I think he doesn’t know how to fight without that because he used these things every time, so I think right now, I’m looking forward to that,” said Prochazka.

Well, even in the press conference he was asked about the same thing, and Prochazka admitted that again, “Yes everybody knows that he is doing these rituals ahead of his fight everybody can feel that what’s around him and what’s going on Alex can’t fight without that. That something that he’s been using normally in fights.” Prochazka’s shamanic ritual claims were not taken lightly by the MMA fans as they took to socials to comment on it.

The MMA community is perplexed by Jiri Prochazka’s ancient ritual claims for Alex Pereira’s victory

Alex Pereira represents the Pataxó people of the Siratã Mantxó reservation in his fights. Pereira explains that the Pataxó people are his people. The people in the Pataxó community pray for his victory always and seems like it has some effect on him. While Prochazka demands a clean match from Pereira, a fan sees that ‘Poatan’ will win the match by way of witchcraft.

“Pereira via Brazilian aztec witchcraft”

Well, Jiri Prochazka is known to have an honor level of above 100. He considers himself the modern-day samurai and knows to make no excuses when he loses but his recent comments might have put a dent in his persona.

“He’s already has excuses”

A win for Jiri Prochazka would mean a trilogy fight for them. A fan urges Prochazka to get the win for the epic rivalry to continue.

“Juri gets the W for the sake of the Trilogy”

Furthermore, does Alex Pereira do any rituals ahead of his clash? Well, a social media user believes that Pereira has already confessed about it.

“He literally said in the past that he does some type of ritual before fighting himself”

Moreover, a fan believes that Prochazka’s ego is his way of reclaiming the light heavyweight title.

“His ego is so big that he thinks the only way alex wins against him is using some brazilian ancient black magic”

Last but not least, a social media user ridiculed Prochazka by stating that most of the Muslim and Christian fighters pray before the matches as well. The argument holds as recent champions such as Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Islam Makhachev have always prayed for victory inside the Octagon.

“Isn’t that the same as Christian and Muslim fighters praying before their fights.  he’s just making excuses now”
