Jake Paul on steroids? Does this taint the idea of him fighting Mike Tyson?

As many MMA fans feared, Jake Paul knocked out Mike Perry in the sixth round of their boxing match minutes ago after dominating the BKFC star for the entirety of the fight. And UFC star Derek Brunson thinks that this one-sided win means that the Paul-Tyson fight will not go through.

Of course, ‘Iron Mike’ was supposed to face Paul instead of Perry tonight, but got injured and the bout was moved to November 15. But given the skill and proficiency demonstrated by ‘The Problem Child’, it has cast fresh doubts if he will indeed face the 58-year-old Mike Tyson on November 15, as is currently scheduled. “There’s no way they still do Tyson v Paul !” Brunson wrote.

The UFC world also congratulated Paul on his victory, with former champ Kamaru Usman commending the “Good finish from Jake.” Aljamain Sterling, while pointing out the size difference in Paul’s fights also commended the former Disney star for “constantly improving in every fight.”

On the other hand, Josh Thomson felt that the fact that Paul fought opponents smaller than him cast doubts on his wins. Nate Diaz, however, took to X/Twitter to apparently poke fun at Mike Perry, observing that “lol he was sh***ing himself.” The most entertaining response, however, perhaps came from Conor McGregor, who was incensed at how the fight went.

After Mike Perry’s loss to Jake Paul, Conor McGregor, a minority stakeholder in the BKFC, told Mike Perry that his services would no longer be required by the promotion. Well not quite. He was considerably much more bombastic and rude, as one would expect from the Irishman.

What’s your perspective on:

Jake Paul on steroids? Does this taint the idea of him fighting Mike Tyson?

Have an interesting take?

“Hey Mike you’re released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You’re fired. @BareKnuckleFC,” he tweeted. Of course, Perry hasn’t really been fired from the BKFC as that decision is not in McGregor’s hands. Not to mention the BKFC star, like ‘Mac’ also owns a minority stake in the David Feldman-led promotion.

While ‘Mac’s reaction to Perry was quite churlish and disparaging, the victorious Paul bore the brunt of the Dubliner’s wrath. McGregor absolutely blasted ‘The Problem child’, accusing him of being on steroids, and the forty-pound weight difference between them. The Irishman sounded disgusted by Paul calling out Mike Tyson after the fight, something he seemed disgusted by.

“And then calling out 60-year-old Mike Tyson fresh off an in-flight medical emergency? I swear to god, a fat can of b***h p***. Most valuable p***bag,” McGregor wrote in part.

There seem not to be many takers for a Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight anymore, as most feel it would not be competitive at all. Tyson, after all, is almost three decades older than Paul and has a public history of health issues. Including mobility issues, which have forced him to even use a wheelchair on occasion. And if Paul could do what he did to Mike Perry, who has extensive combat sports experience and has a legendary chin, many feel a 58-year-old Tyson, who hasn’t had a real fight in over two decades will not fare much better than the BKFC star. Do you think Tyson-Paul should go ahead, or should Paul find another opponent?
