Bobby Green, who has legally changed his name to  King Green is indeed a powerful leader because he takes charge. An example of him having a lot of tolerance and taking charge is his head tattoo. He showed up with a brand new tattoo at UFC 199 media day and the press was in a frenzy. This is because the tattoo was on his head.

The lightweight fighter from Fontana had a wild dragon on his shaved head. He indeed has a lot of patience and endurance because the tattoo took over four days and a total of 28 hours at the Inkfiend Art Studio in Los Angeles. King was pretty candid when he spoke about getting the tattoo and said that it hurt a lot and maybe more than he got hurt inside the Octagon.

He also mentioned how he thought his eyelids were going to hurt because he has a tattoo on his eyelids as well.  However, the head tattoo took the cake because that was the most painful one that he had got to date. He said, “ I felt it in my legs. I felt it in my hands. I’m like ‘How do I feel it in my hands?’”

He is known asKingin the cage but recently decided to legally change his name to his moniker. His moniker and the huge tattoo on his back reads ‘king’ to denote himself and everyone else who has gone through hardships like he has. The reason behind that is very unique and he stated the same recently.

He said, “I come from a broken background where I didn’t have a mother, didn’t have a father, all those different things. Being in foster care. And letting people know that you can come from ground zero, having nothing, being homeless to building whatever it is that you’re trying to build. Whatever you’re trying to be, I don’t want anybody to feel like they can’t do it.”

When the reporter asked him if he regretted it, he immediately said no. He was proud of his head tattoo and declared that he probably was among the very few fighters who had a tattoo on their head and concluded by saying, “I keep  telling you I’m different!”  He also said during an ESPN MMA interview that he did the head tattoo for a thousand reasons.

The first was because he had so many tattoos all over his body that Green was running out of space. Secondly, he said that he used to experiment with his hairstyle and haircut a lot since 14 and that affected his hair growth. So the cool fighter decided to shave all of his hair and get a tattoo on his head. He contacted his father who was in jail at that time and had an inmate who was the tattoo artist. The artist was Asian and he recommended a traditional dragon tattoo for King.

What do Bobby Green’s arm and leg tattoos mean?

The fighter with an incredible record of 32-15-1 has several tattoos all over his arms and legs, and he explained each of them in a previous YouTube video. During a chat with ESPN MMA Green shared that every tattoo he has is significant and carries a meaning. Anthony Smith then asked him about his very first tattoo. He said that his journey and relationship with tattoos began when he was 17 years old.

Green laughed while reminiscing about the memory, and said that he had lied to the tattoo artist about his age and said that he was 18 and graduated high school. Then he said, “The first one that I got is what we call a tribal cross. The tattoo is on his left bicep and according to the lightweight champion, since he is Christian, he believed that at a young age he was doing something for God and decided to get the tattoo.

After that, he got the words ‘never stop’ etched on the same bicep one on top of the cross and the other at the bottom. This also carried a lot of meaning from his wrestling days because he started with wrestling in high school and it was a code of conduct in his training. The next design that he got was on his right bicep and it was a mixture of a tribal band and his name. During the interview, he declared that everyone at that time was hopping on the trend to get tribal inks, but he did not want to do the same. Instead, he got the name Green tattooed as a band on his right bicep.

Green was already in ‘Strike Force’ in 2011 he has been in this game for a long time. The ‘King’ even admitted that he sometimes forgot when he started out in combat sports. During UFC 300 he was almost 48 fights into his career. He also has some significant fat tattoos that represent the love he has for his family and three children. His brother wanted to be a tattoo artist and tattooed his right leg where the word ‘family’ was written. The ‘F’ in the tattoo is huge and represents his hometown Fontana. On his left leg, he has his daughter Isabella’s symbol tattooed which is a bear. He has a unique animal sign for each of his children and has tattooed them on his body as well. Let’s journey into the familial art etched on his body.

Apart from having iconic art on his head, he also represents his family through his body art. He has his son Jeremiah’s symbol which is a lion tattooed on his chest. Finally, the dragon on his head represents his son, Jacob. His hands have the words ‘create’ and ‘destroy’ tattooed on them, which he declared has a deep meaning for him.

When Anthony asked him to explain it, he said a very philosophical thing. “With our hands, you make a choice you know. You can either create or you can destroy. Are you on the side of good or are you on the side of evil?King’ stated. He stated that as a fighter he was creating and destroying. On one hand, he was creating a legacy and on the other, he was destroying someone else’s legacy. He also said that he would like to slow down on the tattooing process, but he would be getting a panda on his neck for his youngest child.
