Is Bo Nickal's self-competition mindset enough to silence critics like Darren Till?

At UFC 300, Bo Nickal earned his main event card fight and surely left everyone impressed by scoring another win to extend his winning streak and have a pro-MMA record of 6-0. With three of these wins coming in the UFC, the former amateur wrestling superstar is stepping up his game and going one-on-one against Paul Craig at UFC 309.

The Scotsman is arguably Nickal’s toughest opponent yet, so it is no wonder that the 28-year-old has decided to train to his level best. In a recent video uploaded on his social media, Nickal shared clips of him preparing for the fight where he was hitting the bags. However, apart from his tough routine, another thing that stands out is a stunning confession he makes about his true opponent. So who is the mystery man?

In the video uploaded on Instagram, Nickal says that he isn’t afraid of working out hard. In fact, he claims that he has been doing similar workouts ever since childhood. But what he is truly afraid of is not pushing himself to the limit. The UFC fighter said that he has been gifted the ‘competitive desire’ by the almighty, and his true competition is no one else but himself. He is competing to push his own limits, and everything is a’reflection inward.’

Bo Nickal said, “It’s what I expect of myself, and the more that I did it, the more that I learned about myself and what type of man I want to be. I just realized that I just have to push myself to as far as I can possibly go, and I have a feeling of competing with myself more than anything. For me, everything I do is just a reflection inward, and I just look at the gifts that God’s given me and what he’s instilled in me. The competitive desire. I used to want to compete against other people, but from that I realized that I’m really just competing with myself. It’s Bo vs. Bo out there.”

Well, it surely feels like Nickal truly takes his fights quite seriously. And maybe that’s why he believes that he is finally prepared to take on the challenge against Paul Craig, who is 17-8-1 in his MMA career. But while Bo Nickal believes that he is all prepared for the fight, an ex-UFC fighter found his training sessions to be laughable. But who is the fighter, and what did he say?

Darren Till mocks Bo Nickal’s striking

What’s your perspective on:

Is Bo Nickal's self-competition mindset enough to silence critics like Darren Till?

Have an interesting take?

Former UFC fighter Darren Till truly isn’t a fan of Bo Nickal’s striking skills. Till, who is now waiting for his next boxing bout, truly knows a thing or two about striking offenses, especially since he won his debut exhibition fight in July. So every beginner UFC fighter would surely want to get the seal of approval from the former UFC title contender.

However, it seems like Nickal has failed to impress the now MMA fighter-turned-boxer. After the training footage of Bo Nickal was uploaded, Till couldn’t help himself from getting a look at it. But while many fans of Nickal expected him to be pleased, the reaction was quite the opposite. Taking to his X account, Till laughed at the footage of Nickal hitting the heavy bag. In a simple tweet, Till wrote, “Oh god 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”

Well, it surely looks like Nickal has a man to prove wrong by winning his 7th fight in a row. Despite winning his last fight, the 6-0 called it one of his worst fights due to his performance. So he truly is harsh on himself and loves to work on his skills. What do you think? Will Bo Nickal be able to prove Darren Till wrong? Let us know in the comments.
