Khabib Nurmagomedov is arguably one of the greatest fighters to be a part of UFC. ‘The Eagle’ had an incredible MMA career and has a record of (29-0). The fighter retired from MMA after winning his last UFC fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.
Even though the fighter has been retired for some time, he remains one of the most talked-about fighters in combat sports. Today Nurmagomedov is a well know fighter all around the world, however, he had very humble beginnings in the mountains of Dagestan.

One of the first instances which made Nurmagomedov popular was his video of fighting a bear as a child. This video garnered much attention, and ‘The Eagle’ became very well known because of the same. Recently when Nurmagomedov appeared in the Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, he talked about the same.
The fighter revealed what his father said to him when he was wrestling the bear. He said, “You know what father told me here. I tell him he try to bite me, he said bite him back.” Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap, was his first coach and was his biggest supporter in the UFC.
‘The Eagle’ has often talked about how his father was a great man and pushed him to do his best every time he wrestled. Therefore, it came as no surprise that Nurmagomedov’s father gave him this advice when he fought the bear.
Mike Tyson reacted to Khabib Nurmagomedov fighting the bear
When Nurmagomedov showed Tyson the video of him fighting the bear, he asked the boxing legend for his views on the same. Tyson said, “The bear loves you. If it doesn’t love you, he could kill you in three seconds. You see those claws.”

While Tyson said that the bear could kill ‘The Eagle’ he said that with a hint of admiration towards the MMA legend.

Nurmagomedov was just 9 years old when he wrestled that bear, and since then that video has broken the internet.
