However, is O’Malley ready to take on the Georgian again? Well, the answer to this question might change as per the situation but Conor McGregor might be the key to opening the wrestling lock that has been haunting O’Malley for quite some time now.

Athletes build programs, period. Period, no comma, no kind of, no sort of. Great athletes are what equal great programs, not great plays and not great training,” said Sonnen.

He further added, “And I think it might be a nice break for Shawn, and I know Tim Welsh very well personally. He loves to go to different places and absorb what he can. I’m seeing all the boxes get checked, but there’s a fourth box, and the only one I really care about, which is: if Sean commits, goes, and does this for one month, of that month, how many times on the mats, at the right time, in workout gear, is he going to see Conor McGregor?”

Sean O’Malley believes Merab Dvalishvili is terrified to defend his title

After Merab Dvalishvili clinched the title at the hands of Sean O’Malley, he was asked about his opinion on facing Umar Nurmagomedov next for his first title defense. ‘Machine’ skipped the question at that time but he indulged in a heavy ‘Not Russian” banter with the entire Team Khabib. Regardless, the former bantamweight champ, ‘Suga’ believes that the Georgian is really scared of facing the Dagestani so soon.

While in conversation with Ariel Helwani, Sean O’Malley was questioned by the MMA journalist whether he knew why hasn’t the Dvalishvili vs. Nurmagomedov been booked yet- “Merab vs. Umar, why is this not being announced? Why aren’t they fighting in November? Why aren’t they fighting in December?” To which ‘Suga’ said, “I’ll be ready. He would prefer me. I think he’s actually terrified of Umar, if I’m being honest. Not trying to troll, not trying to be goofy, I think Merab’s scared of Umar and would rather fight me. He would probably look at me as an easier fight. So yeah, I think he would pick that if he could.”
