When everything was at stake, Jon Jones proved the MMA sphere why he is considered the GOAT of the sport. Taking on Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Jones knocked out the two-time heavyweight champion in the third round by way of a spinning back kick to defend his heavyweight title for the first time successfully. With razor-sharp precision, Jones dismantled Miocic to retire him with honors. However, with ‘Bones’ successfully d͏efending ͏his title, he as͏se͏rted that he would not be retiri͏ng from the sport anyti͏m͏e soon. ͏His͏ decision resona͏t͏ed ͏lo͏u͏dly across t͏h͏e MMA community, spa͏rking ͏talk͏s of a͏ match with Tom͏ Asp͏inall, which͏ now appears to alre͏a͏d͏y ͏be ͏in t͏he͏ w͏orks.

While having a slice of Pizza, Tom Aspinall came face-to-face with Dana White and Hunter Campbell, “I’m gonna hang this out and I’ll come right out and talk to you guys ok,” said Dana White. Soon after the camera angle changed, we witnessed the Britisher delivering the news to us, “Just finished off. It’s now 3:43 a.m. Just had a meeting with Dana, the other UFC brass, Hunter, and all. Success! See you next time. Big news coming.”

With the fight on the cards for some time in the future, Jon Jones asserted that he should be compensated well if he ever fights Tom Aspinall. While having a conversation with the ESPN broadcast desk, Aspinall asserted that Dana White and Hunter Campbell are very certain about his match with Jon Jones. “When Jones was doing his [post-fight] speech, I was looking directly at the UFC brass, Dana [White] and Hunter [Campbell], and both of them turned to me at the same time and pointed at me and winked. At the same time. To me, that says [there is] something big in the pipeline. As I said a moment ago, it’s the biggest fight.”, Aspinall said.

After his victory against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Jones was asked about his stance on Aspinall at the presses, to which the reigning champion stated, “He’s annoying to me. He’s annoying to me and that’s my own personal [opinion]—he annoys me. I get it you guys find it entertaining, but I find him annoying. I just don’t like him and at the end of the day, [and] if I give him the opportunity to fight me, I want to be so compensated. I want to say it – I want that ‘f–k you’ money, honestly. That’s just what it is. Or else my life is perfect without him. I don’t need him at all and he needs me and that’s a good place to be in a negotiation.”
