The 25-year-old Brazilian faced Tunisia’s Mounir Lazzez and made short work of his opponent. The undefeated Brazilian prospect could not have asked for a better UFC debut as he brought the hometown crowd to its feet with his lighting-fast submission win.

Earlier that night, his brother Ismael Bonfim had secured another caustic win, beating lightweight prospect, Terrance McKinney, via a jumping switch knee knockout. Bonfim walked into the Jeunesse Arena boasting an undefeated 13-0 record. The 25-year-old welterweight faced Mounir “The Sniper” Lazzez, who came into the fight with an 11-2 record, winning 4 out of his last five bouts.

However, the Tunisia native could barely trouble the Brazilian, as the fight proved to be a short affair. After a few quick exchanges, Lazzez shot for a takedown. That was the beginning of the end for him as Bonfim countered and locked in a tight guillotine, leaving his opponent no choice but to tap.
