Rose Namajunas will take on Tracy Cortez in the main event of UFC Fight Night Denver on Saturday. ‘Thug Rose’, of course, moved up to the 125-pound women’s flyweight division last year after losing her strawweight title to Carla Esparaza last year. Since moving up, she has had a decent run winning and losing one bout each, both via decisions. Cortez, on the other hand, is undefeated and a victory over Namajunas will see her get not only in the top ten but also get on the short-list for a title shot.
While the card will mostly feature unranked fighters, there is no shortage of potentially exciting, action-filled matchups such as the co-main event bout between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Turkish lightweight contender Muslim Salikhov. A few known faces like Cody Brundage and Drew Dober will also be featured on the card, both taking on exciting prospects in tough matchups. And ahead of the bout, let us take a look at the songs the stars are likely to walk out to.

As far as Namajunas’ walk-out song goes, the former champ has been consistent, walking out to either ‘Praise Yah’ by Lorvins or to the tunes of Trey McLaughlin’s ‘Prolific Praise,’ as she did for her last fight against Amanda Ribas. Cortez, on the other hand, has one song that she has walked out to in all five of her UFC fights: ‘Como la Flor’ by Selena Y Los Dinos, and is likely to use it for her upcoming fight against Namajunas as well.
Rose Namajunas lost her 125-pound debut to Manon Fiorot last year but bounced back with a unanimous decision victory against Amanda Ribas this March. While she was originally scheduled to take on #4 ranked Maycee Barber in Denver, but she pulled out three weeks from the bout. And in stepped #12 ranked Tracy Cortez, who is thus far undefeated in the UFC. The Colorado native was scheduled to take on Miranda Maverick next week on another Fight Night card, but stepped up to the plate after Barber pulled out.

Santiago Ponzinibbio, coming off of a loss to Kevin Holland last year, will try to bounce back against fellow unranked welterweight Muslim Salikhov in the co-main event. For his last octagon appearance, Ponzinibbio walked out to the tunes of ‘Pa’ la Seleccion’ by La T y L a M, and may choose it for his upcoming fight, too.

Salikhov, on the other hand, walks out to a rendition of the eponymous Turkish TV show about the legendary Ottoman general, ‘Resurrection: Ertugrul’ theme. Drew Dober, who will take on Jean Silva in a lightweight bout on the main card, is likely to walk out to the peppy tunes of ‘This Is How We Do It’ by Montell Jordan.
Another notable name on the card will, of course, be Cody Brundage, scheduled to face Abdul Razak Alhassan on the Denver card. Brundage chose ‘Fantasy’ by Mariah Carey as his walkout song at UFC 300, although which song he will walk out to in Denver remains unclear. What are your predictions for the card?
