2024 was a bombastic year for the world of mixed martial arts. We got to witness a last-second knockout and dominant performances by many fighters. But the one thing that made the fight fans get to the edge of their seats was the entry of the fighters in UFC with their walkout songs blaring through the speakers. These songs carried nothing but emotions and strength for the fighters and fans alike.
Some of these music tracks showcased strength, while others highlighted the fighters’ roots. Today, let’s look at the top 5 UFC walkout songs that raised the hype around the fights in 2024.
1. Dustin Poirier: UFC 302

Dustin Poirier loves to walk out to a beautiful mashup of Willie Spence’s cover of ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna, and ‘The Boss’ by James Brown. This was the song that shone some light on his moniker ‘The Diamond’. And it was indeed a moment for the Cajun fighter to shine as he got an opportunity to fight Islam Makhachev for the lightweight belt. After all, he rightfully secured a title shot after defeating Benoit Saint-Denis with a round-two KO.

When Dustin Poirier announced, “Imma do a mashup. It’s happening,” the entire fighting community burst into excitement. With emotions running high at UFC 302, The Diamond’s walkout song was indeed one of the favorite moments of 2024 for most of us. And the fact that Poirier hinted at retirement following his emotional loss against the lightweight champion further expanded the emotional attachments to the event.
2. Colby Covington: UFC Tampa
UFC Tampa witnessed a change in Colby Covington’s walkout song. He has walked out to various songs, but UFC Tampa was a special one. ‘Chaos’ raised the fighting community’s energy with Hulk Hogan’s iconic track. It was indeed ‘Real American’ by Rik Derringer. On top of that, Covington walked out with the WWE Hall of Famer, Hogan, bringing him to the Octagon.
Not only did the song show how much he respected the WWE star, but also displayed his support for Donald Trump. To make things even more exciting and dramatic, ‘Chaos’ ripped his shirt apart as he walked into the arena to fight Joaquin Buckley.

Previously, Covington raised the fight fans’ entropy by walking out to Kurt Angle’s theme song at UFC 268. Needless to say, the former interim welterweight champion relished the moment as the entire arena boomed in response to the walkout song. Well, it also raised some doubts about Covington’s relationship with the WWE realm. But let’s leave that for another time and keep our focus on the walkout songs.
3. Alex Pereira: UFC 300 and UFC 303
The light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira never really stopped pouring in tributes for his tribe. Hailing from the Patoxan tribe, an indigenous tribe of Brazil, the UFC double champion’s music also shines some light on his origins. His trademark walkout song is ‘Itsari’ by Sepultura. It means roots in the Xavante language, and the music that blares out of the speakers enchants the crowd with ‘Datsi Wawere’.

But things were highly energetic at UFC 300 when the man with the hands of stone walked in with ‘Itsari’ blaring out loud. And that was when Jamahall Hill decided to go out of the Octagon to welcome Pereira as he performed his iconic walkout followed by the bow and arrow shriek.
UFC 303 also witnessed a similar stance as the crowd exploded in cheers.
4. Sean O’Malley: UFC 306
Things were pretty hyped up as the fight promotion debuted at the Sphere at UFC 306. Needless to say, the former bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, rocked the fighting world with his stylish walkout. He walked out to ‘Lupe Fiasco’ by Superstar ft. Matthew Santos, to full volume on the speakers. But it was the visual treat that made things even more memorable.

The entire dome was lit with blue as the screens on top showed the sun setting down with patches of clouds shattering the light on the audience. A hologram-like effect showed O’Malley shouldering the bantamweight championship belt, with the crowd going absolutely crazy.
Even though the bout ended in ‘Suga’s defeat, the entire fight, starting from the walkouts to the winner announcement, was worth remembering.
5. Jose Aldo: UFC 301
Jose Aldo chose Queens’ ‘We Are The Champions’ as his walkout song for UFC 301. He celebrated his run as the former featherweight champion. ‘Junior Mac’ had also secured top positions at the CBJJ World Championships. On top of that, he was the 2003 Brazilian National Champion. Needless to say, ‘We Are The Champions’ was the perfect walkout song for Aldo.

But what made his UFC 301 walkout special was his return following a brief retirement period. During that time, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as well. But returning to the Octagon was even more special for the fighting community.
