The UFC returns to Manchester this weekend after almost eight years for UFC 304. Unsurprisingly, the card features a bevy of British fighters and will be led by the two English champions in the UFC. Welterweight champion Leon Edwards will make his third title defense in a classic striker vs. grappler matchup against Belal Muhammad in the main event.

For the co-main event, the stakes are possibly even higher. Interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall and Curtis ‘Razor’ Blaydes will fight not just for the interim title, but an assured shot at the undisputed champion, Jon Jones. Ahead of the July 27 event, let us take a look at the walkout songs the stars may walk out to.

A lot of unfinished business will be resolved on UFC 304. Having defended his 170-pound strap against Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, over the past two years since the famous “headshot kill” moment, Leon Edwards will rematch Belal Muhammad. The duo’s Fight Night clash three years ago was ruled a no-contest after ‘Rocky’ accidentally eye-poked ‘Bully B’. And for their bout, Muhammad is expected to stick to ‘My Blood is Palestine’ by Dami Falesteeni, which as the name suggests, is an ode to his parents’ beleaguered homeland.

Edwards, on the other hand, has a fondness for the reggae-hip-hop bets of ‘Shabbad Mada Pot’ by Dexta Daps from his native Jamaica, having walked out to the song multiple times, including for his UFC 296 clash against ‘Chaos’ and his UFC 278 clash against Usman. However, since he has also used other songs during his UFC stint, it cannot be said for sure that the Englishman will stick to this song.

Curtis Blaydes handed Tom Aspinall the only loss of his pro MMA career in July 2022, because of a freak injury. Aspinall blew his knee almost as soon as the bout started, and suffered a TKO loss fifteen seconds into the fight. Aspinall does not stick to one walk-out song, and almost chooses it based upon thematic considerations.

For his last fight against Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 in New York City, for example, he chose the song ‘An Englishman in New York’ by Sting to walk out to. Blaydes, however, has consistently used the ominous tunes of the ‘Mortal Kombat Theme’ for his fights.

Which songs will the other stars walk out to?

Liverpool native Paddy Pimblett will take on #15 ranked lightweight King Green (previously Bobby Green) on the main card. Green will almost definitely choose a hip-hop banger, as he has done throughout his career to make his walk-out.

Pimblett, too, sticks to one song for his walkout, of which he is particularly proud. The Englishman has used an electrifying medley of electronic cult-hit songs, ‘Lethal Industry’ by Tiesto and ‘Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ by Heads Will Roll to set the mood before his fights.

Opening the main card will be English #6 ranked bantamweight star Arnold Allen, who will face #10 Giga Chikadze in an uphill albeit exciting matchup for ‘Almighty.’ The winner of their 145-pound clash will probably be two or three steps from a title shot. Chikadze, a Georgian who lives and trains outside his homeland, pays tribute to his country in his walkouts, choosing a native Georgian tune for his fights. Allen, on the other hand, is expected to walk out to another British classic, having used Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘F***ing In the Bushes’ by Oasis previously.
