Bellator MMA Champion Gegard Mousasi Sends Death Threats to Conor McGregor: “He Would’ve Died, I Swear to God”

Bellator middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi had words to say about Conor McGregor. After his impressive title defense at Bellator 275, the former Strikeforce world champion spoke to the media, where he put out a message for ‘The Notorious’.

Earlier in the main event of Bellator 275, ‘The Dream Catcher’ put on a clinic and handed the first loss to his opponent, Austin Vanderford. Thus, he showed why many consider him the best middleweight in the world, irrespective of the promotions.

Talking about Conor McGregor, Mousasi said, “He could’ve come. I talked to his coach and my brother is here. You know, he would’ve died. I swear to god. So, he knows…”

“Other than that, I got nothing against the guy, you know, but if he wants to come, he can come, and I’m not kidding.”

However, the reporter clarified that McGregor said Austin Vanderford will take his head off. Upon hearing this, Mousasi gave a playful reply, “Oh, it’s lucky for him because he is short.”

Fans know Mousasi for his cheeky comments. ‘The Dream Catcher’ is always having fun with the media. His recent interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani is one of the great examples of this.

Gegard Mousasi and Conor McGregor have a history

The former Strikeforce champion explained his rift with ‘The Notorious’ and said that it goes back to 2017, when McGregor fought the boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather. During the build-up to the fight, Mousasi’s comments about the bout didn’t sit well with McGregor.

‘The Dream Catcher’ explained the whole scenario with Conor McGregor. He said, “In some interview, I said, they don’t know who the real fighter, because I was saying on Instagram, Mayweather, Conor, they were all, you know, talking about money and everything is, you know?”

“All watch and stuff I said, I said something about it. Then the idiot sent me a private message, actually, he sent it to my manager cause I don’t do Twitter. That was it, I said to manager, write something back, something like that.”

As Mousasi and McGregor are in different weight categories and different promotions, they can’t settle their beef inside the cage.

Also, it is important to note that most of Mousasi’s remarks appeared to come as banter rather than as threats.
