After promising an upturn in his fighting career fortunes in 2023, Dillon Danis fumbled his chance as he dropped out of the boxing bout against KSI. Since then, a question about his combat sports career looms large. It remains unclear whether the American fighter will pursue his boxing ambitions or fulfill his Bellator contract. While the Bellator star spends some time picking his next opponent to revive his career, his bizarre claim about his purse attracted the attention of the fans and the Bellator CEO himself. Significantly, Scott Coker recently discarded the claims of the welterweight fighter and further tossed him a simple choice.
In an exclusive conversation with Cageside Press, the Bellator kingpin rejected the contention that the promotion deducted ‘a hefty fee’ from the 29-year-old. Additionally, he offered Danis to either choose a date and opponent to fight or move on.

Scott Coker clears the air about Dillon Danis’s purse claims
Bellator head-honcho declined to accept the claims that were made before Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour. Thus, he strongly contested, “Listen, Dillon Danis said we take money from his purse, we don’t take money from his purse. Okay? Let’s make that very clear.”

Following this, the combat sports promoter mentioned he talked to the perfect 2-0 record holder’s management and kept inquiring about them their intentions and what they really wanted.
But Coker dejectedly put that the promotion couldn’t make the BJJ ace come and fight.
The choice proposed to Dillon Danis
The 60-year-old then continued and stated that the promotion also kept realistic expectations. Pointing out the relevance of the fight company, he remarked, “You want to come fight? Come fight. And it’s that simple to me. You already have a contract in place. Let’s pick a date, pick an opponent, and let’s go. Or, let’s move on. That’s it.”

Previously in a conversation with Ariel Helwani, Coker admitted that the promotion gave a green light to the fight against KSI. However, the Bellator boss expressed surprise at the cancellation of the fight.
Disclosing the aftermath of the cancellation, Coker admitted Danis called him regarding a possible match in the promotion. And, according to him, the chances of the fights taking place depended on how badly ‘El Jefe’ wanted it.
