Johnny Eblen is a vicious fighter and is a formidable opponent in all senses. The Bellator fighter has sealed that with yet another KO victory over Fabian Edwards. If the name sounds a bit familiar, it’s because it is. Fabian ‘The Assassin’ Edwards is the brother of UFC Welterweight champ, Leon Edwards.

Eblen currently sits at 185 pounds in Bellator as the reigning middleweight champion. To add more feathers to his hat, the fighter has frequently expressed his interest in taking on competitors from other promotions. His iron-like hands and elbows already took apart Fabian Edwards, but it seems, a bout with Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards might just be possible after their recent brawl. But will Eblen be able to hold his own against Leon remains the question? However, fans are not so divided about it just yet.

Johnny Eblen seemed to struggle quite a bit against Edwards during the title defense fight. He fought hard and got a massive cut along his eye and it looked like that could be it. However, the champion retaliated with punches and elbows of his own, clinching the victory.

His victory celebration soon went downhill exposing a lack of ‘sportsman spirit,’ as Eblen seemingly lashed out at his grounded opponent as soon as the referee announced the KO. This led to a full-on altercation with ‘Rocky’ quickly entering the cage at his brother’s defense.

Regardless, in a post-fight interview, Eblen had a lot to say. “I mean his brother’s a great fighter,” he said. “I honestly hope he beats Colby, I hate Colby, that dude sucks. But yeah, I wanna fight him too. He’s one of the best guys in the world and I wanna prove I’m one of the best in the world.”

Eblen also added that after the fight he did reach out to the Edward brothers and squashed any beef, stating, “I went over after and I told them, Hey man sorry my emotions were high, and I squashed the beef…. I just wanna fight the guy”.

Most fans weren’t supporting Eblen in any way. Maybe the UFC fandom doesn’t see Eblen as much yet, but the fighter still has an impressive record of 14-0 in his professional career. Leon and Eblen clashed after the fight, the UFC fighter had come to support his brother and the two had to be separated because they looked ready to go at it. Some fans clearly believe that this bout against Fabian came close with that cut over his eye. However, ‘Pressure’ is confident he can take on some of the best fighters out there.

How did Eblen go three rounds in the cage?

The first two rounds were pretty back and forth between Eblen and Edwards. The two were exchanging blows left, right, and center. Takedown attempts by Edwards were blocked off and he ended up landing a nasty elbow that cut open a wound over the 31-year-old’s right eye.

This did nothing to slow down Eblen as opposed to what many fans predicted. In the third round, Eblen managed to land a punch that toppled Edwards backward. A fury of punches and a few seconds later, the opponent was out cold. Eblen came out victorious against one of the Edwards brothers but is he even close to beating ‘Rocky‘? If he stays at Bellator, that’s probably not happening any time soon.
