Ali Abdelaziz, in a recent interview with ESPN MMA, gave his argument for why Belal Muhammad was to fight for a title at the UFC 300 event. When asked if Edwards and Muhammad will fight in the card, he stated, “Hopefully, Belal and Leon can you know, settle the score and fight on this card. But you know, it doesn’t matter. Belal will fight anywhere Ramadan, Not Ramadan, and he’s ready to become a welterweight champion.”

Abdelaziz went on to claim how Muhammad has the longest win streak in the welterweight division excluding Edwards and stated how his client has more wins against the top 10 contenders than anyone else saying, “He beat Stephen Thompson, he beat Vicente [Luque], he beat so many different guys in top ten. He has more wins in top 10 guys than anyone in the division right now.”

He also went on to remind Brett Okamoto about the promise the UFC CEO made for the winner of the Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns‘ fight, saying, “Dana said the winner will get a title shot and that’s what happened. They both stepped in a short-notice fight.” Abdelaziz went on to claim that he and White have known each other for over 20 years and trust him to keep his word.

However, Ali Abdelaziz, being a businessman himself, understands that it’s a business first and foremost regardless of what anyone says, but still looks forward to the Edwards and Muhammad fight to go through. Meanwhile, ‘Remember the Name’ is taking the fight seriously and flying off to start training.
