Will Shavkat Rakhmonov's unbeaten streak end, or is Belal Muhammad's reign just beginning?

Belal Muhammad isn’t backing down. In fact, he’s going all in! ‘Remember the Name’ etched his name in the history books as the first ever UFC champion of Palestinian descent when he ripped the welterweight title from Leon Edwards at UFC 304 earlier this year.

But now, a new challenge awaits—a man with a 100% finishing rate inside the Octagon and a flawless 18-0 record. Shavkat Rakhmonov, ranked no. 3 in the division, is known for his brutal knockouts and slick submissions. However, Muhammad isn’t letting the accolades stand in the way of his determination as he made a bold proclamation on social media recently!

The UFC and Dana White have made it official. On December 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Belal Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov will collide in the main event of UFC 310! The welterweight showdown promises to be a clash of styles—Muhammad’s relentless pressure versus Rakhmonov’s finishing power.

As he prepares to defend his welterweight title for the first time at UFC 310, ‘Remember the Name’ faces a beast in Shavkat Rakhmonov.  Can he stop the undefeated phenom standing in his way? A question that’s been on a lot of the MMA Sphere’s mind. As such, in a recent post on X shared by Championship Rounds, Muhammad stated, “I asked for this fight. I’m the hunter, I’m starving. My fridge is empty, I need some Shavkat meat. No diddy”

Muhammad’s last setback inside the Octagon came against Geoff Neal in 2019 when he lost a unanimous decision. Since then, the Chicago native has gone undefeated racking up wins against names like Gilbert Burns, Sean Brady, Vicente Luque, and Demian Maia, just to name a few.

In fact, Muhammad’s coach, Mike Valle is confident that Rakhmonov’s much-hyped undefeated streak will come to an end at the hands of the welterweight champion. In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Valle shared, “It’s a great code to crack. I can’t wait for it. There’s all this hype behind him and he’s a great guy. He’s a great fighter, too. Belal is unreal, too. He’s the best in the world at fighting.”

Now, Muhammad stands at the pinnacle of his division. But with Rakhmonov looming, will he be able to hold onto the belt? Surprisingly, ‘The Notorious’ has also indicated that he would like to add a third belt from another weight class to his collection!

Conor McGregor is back, and as always, he’s making noise. After a lengthy absence, “The Notorious” is setting his sights on something historic—a potential fight with welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. McGregor, who hasn’t stepped into the Octagon since 2021, isn’t just aiming for a simple return. He wants to make UFC history!

In a now-deleted post on X, McGregor stated, “I’d love to crush my left hook into Belal’s temple and take down the triple crown.” No longer content with his two-weight world champion status, he now wants the elusive “triple crown.” And Muhammad, fresh off his title win over Leon Edwards, is the current obstacle.

The Irishman didn’t stop there. He aimed for Muhammad’s fighting style and further went on to state, “To think this bum (Belal Muhammad) is now a UFC champion with zero knockdowns on his resume whatsoever is so bad. The UFC’s most abysmal zero revenue generating fighter in modern history,”

However, with talks swirling about a potential clash against Dan Hooker in February in Saudi Arabia, it remains to be seen if the ‘The Notorious’ can find himself in the picture to become a ‘triple-champ’ in the UFC. But for Belal Muhammad, the focus is clear—defend his belt against Shavkat Rakhmonov. The odds are steep, but the champion thrives under pressure, and with his hunger to remain at the top, he’s ready to put it all on the line.

Will Muhammad cement his reign or will Rakhmonov’s unbeaten streak continue with the belt around his waist after UFC 310? And could McGregor really crash the party with his bold aspirations? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
