The 10-1 flyweight fighter recently opened up about how she has felt over the years. Cortez stated that she feels like many people have been looking down on her when it comes to her MMA career. She feels as if people haven’t really stopped underestimating her as a fighter. Talking to ESPN MMA, she revealed how she feels like this even after grabbing 10 professional MMA wins in a row. Tracy Cortez said, “I have been underestimated… my entire career.”
Similarly, the 29-year-old finds it hard to understand why people, and even fans, don’t take her as seriously as she wants them to. She then pointed out that maybe she gets judged by the way she looks, but isn’t so sure about that. “It’s one of those things where people don’t take me very serious. Maybe because of my appearance, I don’t know,” said Cortez. But she is ready and willing to show what she’s made of.

While mentioning that she didn’t understand why people underestimated her, the 10-1 fighter claimed to have a full belief in herself and her abilities as a fighter. Moreover, Tracy Cortez also brought her MMA record into the mix, claiming that her 10 wins and one loss are a testament to how good of a fighter she is. She further said, “lay off or not, I do believe my mark, my record speaks for itself.”

Moreover, the Arizona native will make her return on the prelims at Noche UFC. Cortez will take on Jasmine Jasudavicius, who has four wins in her last five fights and has a lot of momentum on her side. Regardless, the 29-year-old is determined to show how good she is to the whole world. “Come Saturday, I’ll do what I got to do again and show the world,” added she added.
