Belal Muhammad is coming off a huge win against the Wonderboy, Stephen Thompson, after beating him via a unanimous decision this Saturday. This was arguably the biggest win in his career up till now, and it’s safe to say he made it look pretty easy.

After his win against Thompson at UFC Vegas 45, Muhammad has been receiving the attention he deserves. Even though he isn’t among the hyped fighters of the division, he is surely a contender for the title now. Muhammad recently appeared in an interview with ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi to talk about what’s next for him.

In his interview, Belal Muhammad took a dig at one of the division’s most hyped fighters. He called out Khamzat Chimaev and stated that he would like to fight him next.

Muhammed said,” Besides Kamaru, beating him probably gets you the most hype in the division right now. Because he has that McGregor feels to him where the fans think he’s untouchable… Dana thinks that this guy’s untouchable. So when the boss thinks he’s untouchable you go in there, you beat him, then the boss is going to recognize you.”

“So I think that yeah, I would want that fight as well. I just think that stylistically I match up very well with this guy… To me he’s not this untouchable boogeyman that everybody’s afraid of. I would be down to fight him as well and I think that would also be a fun fight for us”

Muhammad has been taking many digs at Colby Covington since his win against ‘Wonderboy’. If this beef escalates, we could possibly see them compete in the octagon. Khamzat Chimaev could also be a possible opponent for the fighter.

Another fighter Muhammad could face next is Jorge Masvidal, assuming he recovers from his injury quickly.
