It’s official! UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya now has an opponent for the main event at UFC 293. Well, it’s none other than Sean Strickland. After the unforeseen injury of Dricus du Plessis, Strickland was indeed a front-runner in the race for the championship. Now that the bout is confirmed, the name of another title contender has popped into the picture.

Sean O’Malley, the number one contender for the bantamweight title, expressed his thoughts considering Adesanya’s title bout. Yet another YouTube video featured his thoughts that were slightly inclined toward ‘The Last Stylebender’.

After creating his YouTube channel, O’Malley has undoubtedly been vociferous about various anticipated battles from the past and present. He did, however, discuss Sydney’s major event once again. ‘Sugar’, began to provide his analysis as he talked about the odds for the fight.

He stated: “Sean Strickland could grapple pretty good but Izzy’s not f*ckin easy to take down. And if it was a kickboxing fight I mean Izzy’s gonna peace. So that is kind of how I see that fight playing out but Izzy shows up focused and he always you know, he is very smart. He knows what the f*ck he is doing.”

O’Malley did, however, clarify how challenging an opponent Adesanya will be for Strickland. He asserted that even if Strickland has a respectable grasp of grappling, it will undoubtedly not be sufficient to overcome Adesanya. He emphasized Adesanya’s skill in kickboxing in order to convey his ideas. O’Malley’s thoughts were surely inclined towards Adesanya, however, it might have been because of Strickland’s recent bold comments on the bantamweight star.

How did Sean Strickland take a dig at O’Malley?

In an interview, Sean Strickland appeared to cast doubt on O’Malley’s tattoos. He made it clear in his interview with MMA Weekly that he didn’t appreciate O’Malley’s tattoos. He made fun of the bantamweight champion, keeping the tattoo in focus.

He said, “Sean O’Malley f*ckin clown. I actually like him but how do you let a dude tattoo a f*ckin name on you? Come on! Dude.” Taking a dig at O’Malley he further quoted, “I don’t need any distinguishing marks if I commit a crime at some point in my life.”

The footage made it clear that Strickland didn’t like O’Malley’s tattoos. Well, Strickland appeared at ease with his impending pivotal match coming up. However, the fight in Sydney would undoubtedly launch him to new heights. So much being said by O’Malley for Adesanya would surely be under scrutiny, considering the main event of UFC 293.
