Conor McGregor‘s fighting career may be at a standstill, but it seems like he’s excelling in his gig as a promoter. The former UFC two-division title holder recently made an astonishing claim about an upcoming BKFC card regarding ticket sales, and guess what? It appears to be the same venue where Dana White made over a million dollars in ticket sales.
The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia will be hosting bare-knuckle action on the 25th of January with BKFC KnuckleMania 5. The Eddie Alvarez vs Jeremy Stephens headliner appears to have achieved a landmark in the Wells Fargo Center, as Conor McGregor claims the upcoming BKFC PPV registered the biggest gate in the home of the Philadelphia 76ers.
“Biggest gate in the arena’s history? Oh yes! See you all there! BARE KNUCKLE ACTION LIVE FROM WELLS FARGO CENTER, PHILADELPHIA,” Conor McGregor tweeted. For the unversed, the UFC has also been to this famous arena on three separate occasions, most notably for UFC 133 back in 2011. That event helped Dana White and Co. earn a gate total of $1.5 million, as mentioned by ‘MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn on X.

UFC pulled a $1.5 million gate at Wells Fargo Center for UFC 133 in 2011. Would be an impressive accomplishment if BKFC has indeed surpassed that. https://t.co/osjcnKTuG8

While we don’t have the exact details on the BKFC’s ticket sales, the biggest show that ever took place in the Wells Fargo Center was when the popular boy band, Backstreet Boys. According to reports, the band holds the record for the highest attendance for an event in the venue, with approximately 21,424 fans showing up. Many believe that event set the record for the biggest gate in the venue, which was known as the First Union Center when the Backstreet Boys performed there in 1999.

Nevertheless, McGregor’s association with the BKFC has only done wonders for the promotion. He’s been a proper cheerleader for this form of combat sports and has hyped many of his fighters in various events. With all the success, the Irishman even claimed that he was working on making a video game as well.
Conor McGregor’s BKFC to rival Dana White’s UFC video game franchise
The UFC is not only the biggest MMA promotion in the world but also has a successful video game franchise in association with Electronic Arts. For many, the UFC video game franchise has been the favorite option when it comes to the combat sports genre, but that could change soon. Just a handful of months ago, Conor McGregor revealed that he’s working on creating a BKFC video game, which will have a great deal of realism and fast-paced action.

“I am currently working on a [BKFC] video game,” Conor McGregor tweeted back in October last year. “Fast-paced action with nasty cuts and blood splatter and the sound of bare knuckles on skull impact never heard nor seen before in a video game. Stay tuned!”
Well, it seems like staying away from fighting hasn’t affected McGregor at all since he’s doing well in other roles. But is his claim really legit? Well, only time will tell. Meanwhile, let us know what you think about BKFC KnuckleMania 5 ticket sales in the comments down below.
