‘Be Like Me’ – Amanda Ribas Asks Fighters to be Humble

UFC women’s strawweight star Amanda Ribas will step inside the octagon after almost 6 months. She will clash with Marina Rodriguez on January 23,  2021. Amanda has grown to stardom since her debut in the promotion and looks to capitalize on the same in her upcoming fight. Lately, she interacted with MMA Junkie on receiving this tremendous opportunity to fight on such a big card, Rodriguez as an opponent, and her attitude towards life.

Ribas seems extremely thrilled about this fight. She confessed, “As a fighter, it will be great for me because everybody is watching the card, and they will watch my fight too, and it will be amazing for me, for my sponsors, for the UFC, and for everything.” 

Fans consider the Brazilian Mixed Martial Artist as a staunch 115-pound contender. She is a fan favorite who makes her fights a treat to watch. As rugged as she is inside the octagon, she remains pretty humble outside the game. Shedding some light on her attitude, she said:

“Some fighters, they put a star in their mind and think, ‘Oh, I’m the best.’ No, slow down because our life is too fast. The fighter life is too fast. We need to know who you are. You’re not the best to anybody. So you need to be humble with a good heart and good vibes. Be like me.”

Ribas is one fighter to look upon, not just the way she presents herself inside the cage, but also the way she carries herself once she steps outside the octagon.

Can a Saturday night win push Amanda Ribas to the top-5?

Ribas debuted with the UFC in 2019 and hasn’t added an ‘L’ to her resume since then. She has fought four times and won all of them. The Brazilian fighter currently holds the number 9 spot in women’s strawweight rankings. Fighting at the undercard on highly anticipated McGregor vs Poirier can help her ensure a million eyeballs.

Talking about Marina Rodriguez in the aforementioned interview, she said, “If I get a win against Marina, I hope to go to the top in my ranks and maybe to the belt.” 

Ribas is keen to continue her undefeated streak in the UFC. However, Rodriguez is an elite striker and Ribas will have to break her style soon to attain a victory.
