The Renato Moicano phenomenon has reached its peak as a professional. Moicano beat Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC Paris with an impressive performance, which ended with the French fighter with cuts on his eyelids and noticeable swelling in his eyes. The doctor had to intervene and, in a wise decision, decreed the end of the fight and the victory by a technical knockout in favor of the Brazilian.
However, the most impressive thing of all was kept a secret from the fans. It turns out that Moicano won the fight despite battling a serious injury. A few hours ago, reporter Kevin Iole shared two photographs that revealed the shoulder fracture with which the Brazilian competed on Saturday night. A stunt that was talked about by Dana White as he revealed his thoughts on this stunt and why Moicano was lucky.
So it was no wonder when in the post-event press conference of the Dana White Contender Series, the UFC CEO was asked about the injury Moicano had during the fight. White said that it was unbelievable to see the Brazilian win the way he did despite the injury; however, he was equally lucky.

According to Dana White, if the doctor had visited Moicano’s corner and noticed the shoulder injury, he might’ve announced Benoit Saint-Denis as the winner. “Yeah, I mean, it was incredible. What he was able to do with that injury, yeah. And sitting in the corner was never even a concern. It’s not even like they were, you know… Yeah. And they’re lucky. Because if Saint-Denis looked like that and the doctor went to the other side, fight’s off.”

With four consecutive victories, his best streak within the organization, the American Top Team fighter was expected to enter the top 10s in the rankings. However, in Tuesday’s ranking update, the 35-year-old veteran did not move from the eleventh spot. A decision that brought out an angry reaction from the fighter.
Moicano declares his wrath against the UFC rankings
Eleventh in the division and waiting to climb the rankings after beating the emerging promise, the 35-year-old awaited an opportunity to either face Dan Hooker or Paddy Pimblett next in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A convincing win against BSD was sure to give him a rank boost. However, strangely, that was not enough for him to climb positions in the lightweight ranking.

He stood at the 11th sport where he was before the fight. The funniest thing of all is that Saint Denis, 0-2 so far this year, did not drop a single place. This drew the ire of the fighter as he took to X to express his anger. He wrote, “That’s the first time I see somebody destroy their opponent and don’t get up on the rankings.” During his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, Moicano lashed out at Emmanuel Macron, president of France, as well as the journalists.
Why? Because an anonymous group of journalists are in charge of the UFC ranking. Well, for many, it will seem like his anger might be justified since he entered the fight with victories over Jalin Turner, Drew Dober, and Brad Riddle. Saint Denis, on the other hand, was coming off a brutal KO loss at the hands of Dustin Poirier at UFC 299. So what do you think? Do you believe his anger is justified? Let us know in the comments.
