Any fighter in the world’s biggest MMA promotion aims for the championship. The story is no different for Gilbert Burns. At the moment, White’s decision of Colby Covington to fight against Leon Edwards for the title shot has disturbed the Welterweight division of UFC. Just like Belal Muhammad and Jorge Masvidal, ‘Durinho’ too feels that he deserves a title shot. However, he is not ready to play any crooked games on the promotion. Instead, he wants to hit the octagon, impress the people with his bouts, and then earn the championship.
Furthermore, Burns believes that Covington has played “smart” which compelled the UFC president, Dana White, to give him a title bout for the third time. Nonetheless, Burns does not want to focus on the drama that’s going around in his division instead, he wants to put his complete focus on his next bout. The 36-year-old is going to lock horns with the BMF Champion at the co-main event of UFC 287 on 9th April.
