Months before the event, Conor McGregor had predicted that UFC 304, led by Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad, would do horribly on PPV. The former two-division champion felt that given both headliner’s proclivity for decision, fans would not be much interested in the Manchester, England card.
His opinion hasn’t changed one bit since then, even after the card turned out to be a solid one, all things considered. Although the PPV numbers for the card are unavailable, fans think that they must not have been good, given how furious and salty Dana White seemed at the post-fight press conference, where he chewed out the fighters for ‘seven decisions in a row’ and promised he would never up the bonuses for any UFC cards.
This sentiment was shared by ‘Mac’, albeit in his own bombastic, self-aggrandizing manner. The Irishman took to X and blasted not only the fighters on UFC 304 but the entire roster of the UFC for not being able to sell any PPVs, something he excels at.

Conor McGregor was scheduled to return to the octagon after three years at UFC 303 last month. The Irishman, however, broke his pinky toe weeks from the Michael Chandler clash in Las Vegas and had to pull out. This was the first time the Irishman had withdrawn from a booked fight, having fought injured on occasion rather than pull out. And he seems closer to fighting this year than he was until last month.

When will Conor McGregor fight again?
Conor McGregor seems to have recovered completely and has been posting pictures and clips of him training hard, seemingly anxious to fight again. The Dubliner has demanded a date this year from Dana White and the UFC CEO has hinted that might not be possible. A lot has happened since then and the prospects of ‘Mac’ getting his wish seem pretty good at the moment.
With UFC 305 and 306 already announced, UFC 308, 309, and 310 seem like a good bet. Ilia Topuria is rumored to be defending his featherweight belt against Max Holloway on UFC 307 in early October. But the next PPV event, UFC 308 in late October, is open. Islam Makhachev was expected to make his fourth title defense on the Abu Dhabi card, but the Dagestani lightweight champ has broken his hand, and may not be able to fight in October.

November’s UFC 309, originally rumored to be led by Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic, also seems open, since Jon Jones reportedly mangled his finger earlier this month. UFC 310 in December, too, seems a likely possibility since there has been no buzz or leaks about the UFC having any plans for the year’s final PPV card. This means that the UFC may have no other option but to book ‘Mac’ for one of the cards in the last quarter of the year.
