Conor McGregor wears many hats- fighter, businessman, whiskey baron, media mogul, and now promoter. After all, McGregor is part owner of the BKFC, which is America’s first bare-knuckle boxing promotion of any significance. While the Irishman has aspirations of one day fighting in the promotion, for now, he is playing the role of a promoter, bigging up BKFC events and fighters.
One of the BKFC fighters who has seemingly caught ‘Mac’s fancy is undefeated Cuban power puncher, Leonardo Perdomo. ‘El Zambo’ is set to face Brazilian Levi da Costa at BKFC on DAZN 3 this weekend. This event is a big one for the fledgling promotion since it is one of the first events to be broadcast on the streaming service. Previously, BKFC events were relegated to YouTube and minor streaming services, not a veritable powerhouse like DAZN.
Perdomo, in fact, sat down for an interview ahead of the clash, where he spoke about his struggles growing up in Cuba in poverty, recalling how he didn’t even have enough to eat as a child growing up in the island nation. And in the comments section, hyping up Pedromo was none other than McGregor himself, who left a comment “EL ZAAAMBOOOO!!!🇨🇺🙌” below the video. Game, as they say, recognizes game.

‘El Zambo’ is already being termed the ‘Mike Tyson of bare-knuckle’ by some fans because of his devastating power and ability to send opponents to the netherworld with one punch. Of his five fights in the BKFC, he has five finishes, all of them coming in the very first minute. Hard times create strong men, as the saying goes, and that is nowhere more true than in the Cuban sensation’s case. But Conor McGregor must be hoping to get some of Perdomo’s legendary power as he sees up for a boxing return.

Why is Logan Paul a dangerous opponent for Conor McGregor?
There is never a dull day with Conor McGregor. Just as fans were hoping the Irishman may be looking to make his return to the Octagon with Dana White having floated a date ‘sometime next year’, the former champion came out with a bombshell announcement. As you must be well aware at this point, the Dubliner is looking to make his return to the boxing ring against Logan Paul.
After all, the UFC superstar’s last foray into boxing against Floyd Mayweather in 2017 was massively successful and put the Irishman on another level financially. The Paul fight will undoubtedly not do as well as that one, but will still make McGregor a lot of money for some relatively easy work.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Conor McGregor's support enough to make Leonardo Perdomo the next big thing in combat sports?
Have an interesting take?
The Logan Paul fight, unlike the Mayweather one, will be an exhibition, which may make some feel like the Irishman will not be in any danger whatsoever. On the other hand, Logan Paul had an exhibition with Floyd Mayweather three years ago, where the WWE star was throwing bombs, clearly trying to knock out the legendary boxer.
The same could be expected for his McGregor exhibition. Not to mention the American is much bigger than ‘Mac’ and outweighs him by quite a bit. All of which have added a lot to the intrigue of a potential clash between the two. What do you think about Conor McGregor hyping up ‘El Zambo’?
