Joe Rogan recently made headlines after he opened his comedy club, Comedy Mothership. The 55-year-old has already established a name for himself as the leading podcaster on Spotify. Furthermore, Rogan is a longtime UFC commentator and a former Fear Factor host. A stand-up comedian himself, Rogan has now entered the realm of club owners with his new establishment, Comedy Mothership, in Austin, Texas.

Rogan received several commendations for his new venture from fans and pros alike. The latest among them is BJJ phenom, Gordon Ryan. The 28-year-old recently took to Instagram to congratulate Rogan for successfully establishing his own club.

In an Instagram post earlier this month, Joe Rogan announced the opening of Comedy Mothership and revealed that tickets were on sale for the first couple of shows. A resident of Austin, Texas himself, Gordon Ryan has now come forward, supporting a fellow jiu-jitsu black belt for his latest venture.

 

In one of his recent IG posts, Ryan wrote, “I want to give a huge congratulations to my dear friend, @joerogan, on the opening of his new comedy store, @comedymothership.”

He continued, “He was working on this since before we even moved to Austin, and it turned out absolutely incredible. Every detail, from what is available for the public to see, to what is behind the scenes, it’s all absolutely amazing.”

In addition, Ryan complimented the staff, the atmosphere, and the comedy shows that happen at the club. In addition to his IG post congratulating Rogan, Ryan made another post that made headlines.

Gordon Ryan on steroid use in BJJ

In a recent IG post, five-time ADCC world champion Gordon Ryan went after his critics. In a surprising turn of events, USADA recently suspended five BJJ athletes for three years for violating anti-doping rules. Following the news, Ryan took a swipe at his critics.

In an IG post, he wrote, “Man i guess that stupid “Gordon only wins because steroids” argument just fell apart overnight, huh? Dudes it here on 14 different types of drugs and still can’t touch me. What do you guys have to say now? Let me guess. “[poop]” emojis? bahahah”

A controversial and outspoken personality, Ryan has also been at the center of steroid accusations. The three-time IBJJF No Gi champion has one of the most shredded physiques among top BJJ practitioners.
