Tom Aspinall achieved a remarkable comeback at UFC London after overcoming a serious knee injury. He secured a first-round stoppage victory against Marcin Tybura, leaving the crowd in awe. In his post-fight interview, the surging heavyweight signaled his ambition to fight his way to a bout with the reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Furthermore, he boldly proclaimed his plans to defeat the winner of Ciryl Gane vs. Serghei Spivac, and then challenge ‘Jonny Bones’.
Aspinall’s impressive performance and audacious callout immediately captured the attention of the champion and former interim titleholder. Jon Jones responded to Aspinall’s call out with a short but intriguing tweet. Meanwhile, the Frenchman issued a warning to the 30-year-old, as he tweeted, “Great performance Tom, careful what you wish for. See you in Paris”.

He confidently stated, “I think I’ll match up pretty well against him. I think I am equally as fast as him, I move equally as well. The difference is I can grapple and I’ve got a lot of power. And I think that’s pretty undeniable at this stage of my career.”
It will certainly be intriguing to witness Aspinall pursuing the path he’s aiming for. Ciryl Gane’s bout against Serghei Spivac is scheduled for September 2 at the Accor Arena in Paris, headlining UFC Fight Night. Meanwhile, Jon Jones is set to face Stipe Miocic on November 11 at Madison Square Garden, New York, at UFC 295. Tom Aspinall will undoubtedly have his eyes locked on both events, closely observing his potential future opponents.
