British pop star Sam Smith has yet again made the headlines. After his controversial performance at the Grammys, the 30-year-old has once again courted controversy with his choice of outfit for the 2023 Brit Awards. Smith’s distorted silhouette, designed by Indian-born menswear designer Harri, made the headlines of most page 3 outlets while earning the ire of the general public and important personalities alike. MMA’s very own Jake Shields too, couldn’t help but tweet the uncanny choice of clothes that the artist chose to don during the award show.

Shields, who is a long-time training partner to Nate Diaz, is quite well known in the Twitter world for voicing his opinions and not letting go of an opportunity to point out anything absurd. Thus, it was not surprising to see the former UFC fighter criticize Smith’s choice of outfit. Fans were also quick to react to Shield’s tweet, with a majority of them siding with the American MMA fighter.

Considering that he had recently been in the news for his controversial grammy performance with satanic references, no one would have expected Sam Smith to make the headlines yet again in a matter of days. Yet, the artist seems to have successfully achieved that, making him a trending topic globally.

Reportedly, viewers have even filed complaints with CBS for airing the show.

Accompanying the usual bashing, quite a few MMA fighters also slammed the pop star for this performance. Jake Shields was one of those fighters, while Diego Sanchez and Marvin Vettori too voiced their disgust on Twitter.
