The situation tangled up further after the challenger, Glover Teixeira declined to fight the arranged replacement at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 10. However, the Brazilian fighter remained high-spirited after the UFC head honcho Dana White‘s latest statement strengthened his chances of laying claim to the UFC gold.

Notably, the former UFC champion was on the receiving end of some intriguing questions in an interview with The Schmo. The duo touched upon UFC president Dana White confirming him as the next in line, Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou, and Jiri Prochazka‘s recent decision.
What did Glover Teixeira say about his title chances?
Teixeira, 43, started the conversation while clarifying his stance about stepping down from the fight card. While stating that the new headline fight for the undisputed title would prove tough for both fighters, the light heavyweight fighter also declared that he would get the winner next.
Further, the #2 ranked fighter mentioned he remained hopeful of fighting in Brazil, as he would prepare for the winner. The Schmo, following the statement, inquired whether UFC confirmed the same to him.
Subsequently, Teixeira, at 33-8, reacted to UFC lynchpin Dana White’s recent statement concerning him. Thus, he said, “Well, Dana say post something yesterday. 100% next and uh yeah, man. You know… If you think about Jiri is not coming back for another year, you know. I’m the next guy. There’s no, there’s no doubt about it”
Later on, the correspondent quizzed the BJJ ace whether he would have relinquished the title if he was in the Czech fighter’s shoes.
