The latest episode of Spotify’s top podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, dropped on Spotify on December 3. This time the fitness YouTuber, Derek from ‘More Plates More Dates’ joined Rogan; the duo talked about a variety of topics. However, perhaps the most intriguing part about it was Rogan’s reaction to the news of Elon Musk’s neuralink. For the unknown, Elon Musk had publicly dropped the news of developing a neuralink. The proposed purpose of this neuralink is to help disabled patients to move and communicate again and also restore the sight of the visually impaired.

While the purpose of innovation seems harmless and benevolent, Rogan, along with his guest Derek, was concerned about the consequences of the same.
What is Joe Rogan concerned about?
Since the first episode of the podcast in 2009, the energetic UFC commentator has come really far when it comes to the content of his podcasts. Rogan has become a credible source for everything flowing through the internet and the viral news about this neuralink is no exception.
When asked by Derek, “what do you think about the neuralink thing coming out soon? Elon’s gonna chip himself or something?”

Rogan replied by saying, “He’s gonna turn into God. That’s gonna be a problem.”
Rogan’s concern is pretty evident through his words as he speaks. According to him, apart from the proposed benevolent purpose of the device, it can also be used maliciously. After all, giving an individual or organization control over your brain can never be a good idea.
What is the concern all about?
Of course, advancing technology has its cons, but it also provides with us a lot of benefits. Our main duty before proceeding with such technological advances is to cross-check any and every disadvantage possible. This includes looking into the future consequences as well.
As Rogan said in the podcast, “yeah, I worry a lot. I think it’s inevitable though… that’s just gonna keep going… to a point where people won’t even breed anymore.”

It is clear that Rogan has looked at this issue from several perspectives. Derek, the guest, agrees that even though it is important for technological advances to take place, it shouldn’t be at the cost of a healthy and human lifestyle.
What is the government’s response to this?
The government hadn’t interfered in the process of this device so far until the news came out that Musk has been using animals for his prototype. Considering the increasing awareness of animal rights during these times, the government is not taking a step back from hence the federal probe.
