Former UFC fighter Artem Lobov and Conor McGregor may get into a fight. The fight, however, will be legal and will be fought in a court of law. Artem Lobov’s lawyers are set to slap ‘The Notorious’ with a lawsuit in the Proper no. Twelve Whiskey deal. In 2021, Proximo spirits acquired the majority of shares of the Liquor brand.

Dermot McNamara, Artem Lobov’s attorney revealed his plans in a statement given to Marc Raimondi from ESPN, He said, “I cannot make any comment at this stage except to say that we intend to apply in the next few weeks to have the case admitted to the Commercial Division [Fast Track Court] of the High Court,” Further, the entire deal is estimated to be worth $600 Million.
Although the idea of Proper 12 whiskey was conceived after Nordic Strongman Hafþór Björnsson came to Conor McGregor with a proposal to invest in a liquor brand; McGregor later turned to Artem Lobov for advice. Then Lobov suggested Irish Whiskey as a workable option instead of getting into the Vodka business. Lobov also helped McGregor with research and a “beautiful” deal.
Conor McGregor denies Artem Lobov Claims
Artem Lobov’s claim is 5% of the $600 Million payout. Lobov also claimed that he turned down the $1 Million that McGregor offered him for his services. His attorney, however, claimed that the lawsuit references an agreement that would have paid Lobov a certain percentage.
In response to this, Conor McGregor’s spokesperson has denied any such claims. “Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey was created, developed, branded, and tirelessly promoted by Conor McGregor. Any suggestion that the plaintiff has a claim to Proper No. Twelve is incorrect.” said Karen Kessler On Conor McGregor’s behalf.
McGregor and Lobov have been training partners
Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov have been long-time teammates and friends. The duo has trained together and is known to be close. That, however, has not stopped Lobov from taking matters to the court. The Proper No. Twelve whiskey deal is one of the highlights of Conor McGregor’s business career.
