Being Conor McGregor isn’t easy. Everything he does draws some reaction. Funnily enough, he doesn’t even have to do anything at times to elicit those reactions from the audience. That is just the price you pay for being the richest and the most controversial UFC fighter in the world. It is public knowledge that “The Notorious” loved headlines and vice versa. And all those headlines bring the Dubliner love and hate, both, depending on what he does. However, there was rather interesting news that was made public recently that McGregor warned his staff at his pub, The Black Forge Inn, to not serve any “scumbags“. And ironically enough, that resulted in him getting barred in response to his own orders.

That does sound pretty hilarious, and many would want that to be true as well. But sadly, that was a false report. Nevertheless, because the news was focused on Conor McGregor, it managed to generate some backlash from the audience, who fell for it.

False news about Conor McGregor still draws backlash

Although there wasn’t an ounce of truth in the news about Conor McGregor being barred from his own pub, due to its appealing nature, it elicited some backlash for the UFC star. So much so that the fans went on to call him names and made a mockery of him for the irony the news held.

This situation is a perfect example of the saying, “Don’t be so quick to believe everything you hear because lies always spread faster than the truth.” Even though it was a piece of fake news this time, the Irishman nonetheless faced some harsh backlash.

This is just a part and parcel of standing at the pinnacle of success that McGregor is at right now. However, the UFC community misses “The Notorious” in the octagon. It has been more than 18 months since he last stepped in the octagon. And 2023 might just be the good news Conor McGregor fans were anticipating for so long.

“The Notorious” returns in 2023?

There have been many such instances where “The Notorious” has hinted about his comeback. But nothing has been concrete so far in that regard. However, Michael Chandler a.k.a the “Iron” has been itching to take on Conor McGregor as soon as he makes a comeback to the octagon. And maybe the stars were just perfectly aligned when he put out those words because Dana White happens to share his viewpoint on that one.
