Antonio Trocoli’s has had a rough journey towards making his UFC debut! The 33-year-old was a contestant on Dana White’s Contender Series 2019 where he impressed White with a first-round submission win over Kenneth Bergh. However, he failed a pre-fight drug test leading to the UFC boss stating, “We’re going to release him, he shouldn’t be using anywhere for any reason.”
Following his release, Trocoli was linked to another UFC bout with Ovince St.Preux at UFC 282 but due to visa issues, he was forced out of the card yet again. Antonio Trocoli, also known as ‘Malvado’ was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and is ethnically Brazilian. The 33-year-old started his career in the regional scene where he amassed an 8-0 record before suffering a 3-fight losing streak.
According to information available on Tapology, ‘Malvado’ trains out of the ‘Full House’ gym in Belo Horizonte under head coach, Eduardo Lopes. Trocoli’s big break came with his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series but due to the aforementioned failed pre-fight drug test, his UFC contract was withdrawn.
It appeared that Trocoli was headed towards redemption when he was scheduled to face Ovince St. Preux at UFC 282, but he was released from the promotion for the second time after failing to secure a visa for the event which was held in Las Vegas.
