Anthony Smith has had a rough upbringing. An American by nationality and born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Smith has experienced the heat of two towns as he was brought up in Nebraska City. There’s an important rather peculiar analogy about the UFC fighter. There was once a time when he termed himself to be biracial even though he spent most of his life in the streets of the United States.

His childhood in Nebraska has always been a troubled one. In his own words. it was mischievous. “I grew up in Nebraska City. I played football and wrestled my whole life. I was quite the troubled youth and dropped out of high school when I was 17. I saw a flyer for an amateur fight night at a Subway and figured why not? I could fight and not get into trouble…the rest is history.”
In a tweet, he claimed to be biracial which got a ton of negative responses from the fans. However, his X account seems to be either deleted or withheld by the corporation as of now. To have it simple Smith was born and brought up and raised in the United States of America, however, he has the blood of both African-American and Caucasian ethnicities as mentioned by him. Now that we know about his ethnicity, let’s look at his upbringing and family.

All we know about Smith’s parents and childhood
Anthony Smith’s childhood was rough; he was raised by a single mother and his grandparents and his father was missing from the episodes of his childhood. ‘Lionheart’ has time and time again stated that the absence of his father has affected him but what crushed him was the death of his grandparents.
“I almost killed myself. I didn’t have a dad growing up. My grandpa pretty much helped raise me. He died, and then a couple years later all this stuff starts happening, and I never really dealt with my grandpa dying. I know it sounds stupid, but he was like my hero,” said Smith in a conversation with the media.

In the absence of a father figure, Smith’s mother became his inspiration to become a star. Unfortunately for him, she, too, died soon after. Talking about his pain and anguish, Smith in a statement added that it is ok not to be ok and sometimes it is better to let it go. “I buried both of my parents in the past three years,” said Smith. He further added, “As I said, I had to realize it’s OK to not be OK all the time. I’m sure I’ll have a couple of breakdowns and I’ll cry about it this week, but I’ll get back to training. I’m just sick of being the f***ing tough guy all the time”
Nonetheless, the only people left in Smith’s close family are his wife and kids and he is fighting just for them right now. Do you believe ‘Lionheart’ will have his moment this weekend? State your thoughts in the comments below.
