UFC 287 promised a lot with the exciting fights that were placed before the fans. UFC returned to Miami and fans could not hold back their excitement. The main card at UFC 287 had one exciting prospect fighting another in the bantamweight division. Raul Rosas Jr. took on Christian Rodriguez in Miami.

Rosas Jr. also had an interesting pre-fight altercation with some of the UFC stars coming up to the fight. ‘El Nino Problema’ came into this fight undefeated with a record of 7-0. ‘Ceerod’ has a record of 8-1 in professional MMA as he came into the fight having finished his last opponent.

Fight Result: Unanimous Decision in favor of Christian Rodriguez (29-28). The UFC community took to social media to express their reactions to the result of the long-anticipated fight.

Fans and pros react to Christian Rodriguez defeating Raul Rosas Jr. at UFC 287

Fans gave their reaction to the first loss in Raul Rosas Jr.’s career. The fans took to Twitter to give their opinion on the composure of ‘Ceerod’ during the fight. Some former UFC fighter also had their say about the loss.

Certainly, all the fans were vocal about their opinion of the bantamweight fight at UFC 287. But how exactly did the fight transpire?

What happened during the fight between Raul Rosas Jr. and Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287?

Round 1 started with Rosas Jr. immediately going for a takedown but couldn’t secure it. Rodriguez calmly defended the early onslaught from the 18-year-old. However, ultimately Rosas Jr. secured a takedown.  Rosas Jr. secured a dominant position via side control, but both fighters stood up and engaged in a clinch. In the middle of the fight, the 18-year-old fighter came got his opponent’s back, and tried to choke him. However, Rodriguez showed some much-needed composure in the first round.

The second round also saw Rosas Jr. take an early shot to take Rodriguez down. Rodriguez and Rosas Jr. were in an electric mood in the second round too. The level change from Rosas Jr. saw him take his opponent’s back yet again in round 2. However, in a scramble, Rodriguez ended up in the top position. Rosas Jr. was in trouble as ‘Ceerod’ got him in a body triangle while getting some good shots on the 18-year-old.

Round 3 saw both fighters throwing some strikes and standing up. The 25-year-old showed calmness and composure while Rosas Jr. tried to take him down again. Rosas Jr. ultimately was fatigued even before the middle of the third round. Daniel Cormier said during the fight, “He’s getting beat up, he’s getting beat up bad”. The fight ended as Rodriguez got some good strikes on the ground, after which both fighters stood up.

The judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Rodriguez. ‘Ceerod’ impressed with some much-needed composure in the fight.
