The UFC returned to the Apex with a ranked heavyweight main event at UFC Vegas 56. Veteran Russian fighter #7 Alexander Volkov fought fellow striker #8 Jairzinho Rozenstruik. The battle of the top ten giants saw ‘Drago’ get the early T/KO win against ‘Bigi Boy’.

The early finish saw the Suriname fighter protesting against the stoppage from referee Herb Dean. While Dana White has called out Dean for his work and being indecisive occasionally, this stoppage also had fans bashing the referee.

The clash between the top-tier heavyweights brought out emotions from the fight fans. Consequently, they took to social to express their immediate thoughts about the main event.

As top MMA journalist Ariel Helwani said, “Bad stoppage. Doesn’t count.” The quick bout showed standing in front of Volkov without the threat of the takedown is no undemanding job.

‘Drago’ has absolutely dominated his competition whenever he was against a fighter who had entertained a striking battle with him. Given Rozenstruik’s background, Volkov knew his opposition will not try to put him on canvas barring the knockdowns.
