Hospitality and behavior are indeed of the utmost importance for Khabib Nurmagomedov. Yes, while discipline plays a vital role in the training regime of the Dagestani team, staying on good behavior while not bugging others comes right after it. However, ‘The Eagle’ faced a bit of a problem while he was trying to shoot an advertisement for what seemed like a burger joint. And that turned out to be a lesson for the restaurant staff.
In a video released by MMA Squad on YouTube, the former undefeated lightweight champion can be seen explaining his problem to the staff of a restaurant. According to the narrator, the Belgian restaurant’s staff surrounded ‘The Eagle’ while he was trying to shoot a promotional advertisement video. Needless to say, the Dagestani legend wasn’t comfortable with the act and had to explain it to the restaurant’s manager.
Nurmagomedov could be heard politely saying, “You have to control. If you don’t need nobodies here, you have to tell them to move. Look, look at me. You have to understand because my mood is very important, because I’m human too. My mood might not go down and come up.” Of course, being in a foul mood could definitely spoil the entire promotional video. And even though the saying goes “good food makes good mood,” things might just not set straight if Nurmagomedov had his mood spoiled right in the beginning, don’t you agree?

Thankfully, the situation cooled down pretty quickly, and the credit for that must go to the Dagestani’s politeness. But do you know how good Nurmagomedov’s hospitality is? Let’s hear it from the welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad.

Belal Muhammad talks highly of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s hospitality
Prior to his title shot against Leon Edwards at UFC 304, ‘Remember The Name’ had the opportunity to train alongside Team Khabib. It’s a well-known fact that the Palestinian welterweight champion has a close affiliation with the Dagestani team. And Nurmagomedov doesn’t back away from showing off his hospitality skills. During his appearance on Money Loyalty Legacy, Muhammad revealed that Nurmagomedov asked him to train with him in Abu Dhabi. He admitted that he refused to go at first, but eventually made up his mind to just do it. And that was the moment that ultimately showed him how ‘The Eagle’ took care of his guests.
Muhammad said, “So, I went down there, and Khabib got me my own hotel room and dropped me off. He was like, ‘Just wait here,’ and they got the groceries. Umar and Abubakar filled the kitchen with groceries and stuff like that. I was like, ‘Guys, you don’t have to. I’m good.’ And they go, ‘No, brother, we are gonna make sure you are alright. Anything you need, we got you.’” And later on, he revealed that the former UFC champion got him some expensive shoes. He said, “Then he bought me like $600 worth of shoes from Hermes.”

However, there were times when the Dagestani team showed hostility instead of hospitality. Chael Sonnen once revealed that he walked into a room when Nurmagomedov was getting ready for his workout. Although the Dagestani team members never really asked him to leave, he could sense that he wasn’t welcome. ‘The American Gangster’ claimed that they were looking at him and waiting for him to clear the room. But things might be a bit different now. Who knows, Nurmagomedov might even treat his guests with some iconic ‘BURGIR’.
What’s your perspective on:
Was Khabib right to demand respect from the restaurant staff, or was he overreacting?
