Dana White is known for his zero-tolerance policy when it comes to any unprofessional conduct inside the UFC promotions. Paul Daley had to face the wrath of the UFC head honcho when he banned Daley from the UFC for life after he sucker-punched Josh Koscheck after their fight. Remember what happened to MMA reporter Ariel Helwani when he spoke about Brock Lesnar’s comeback before UFC announced it? Helwani was just doing his job and the UFC boss went ballistic on him.

From lifetime bans to fighters like Nikolay Veretennikov to temporary suspensions, Dana White has done it all. But some folks do get shielded from the dangerous barrage of scrutiny with the UFC boss administering VIP treatment, despite these folks having pretty shady backgrounds. The biggest example, of course, is Jon Jones who, despite numerous PED scandals and various other infractions, is protected by White and the UFC. But this is not the end of the list of Dana White’s favorite controversial entities because now he added Andrew Tate to the team as well.

Despite Tate being embroiled in a litany of civil and criminal cases, Dana White embraced his presence at the UFC 313 event. This was not taken well by MMA fans and certain Conservatives on social media. The X account Republicans Against Trump, wrote, “Dana White meets with Andrew and Tristan Tate. Absolutely disgusting!”

This became a talking point between the aforementioned MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, and MMA fighter Dillon Danis, as they locked horns on the journalist’s talk show. It’s no secret that Danis has a desire to compete in the UFC. Playing off of this, Helwani asked Danis, “When you see, like, the Nelk Boys and Andrew Tate and stuff at the UFC events do you feel, like, FOMO?” Danis played it cool and said, “I mean they’re awesome.” What then followed was a verbal sparring match between the fighter and journalist, over who was allowed to attend UFC events and who was banned.

Then Helwani hit Danis where it hurt. “Between the both of us, who is the last one to beg for a job from him [Dana]?”, asked the veteran journalist. Of course, Danis pointed fingers at the reporter, denying that he ever begged the UFC for a job.

The polarizing athlete did request UFC to sign him, but there was no answer from the promotion. Before signing with the GFL, Danis frequently called for the UFC matchmakers to bring him aboard, to radio silence. ‘El Jefe’ thinks it all because of Logan Paul. He told Ariel Helwani about the ordeal, blaming Paul, and said, “He hates me now. And he’s in the background with the UFC, I’m pretty sure, he’s the one talking to the UFC.”

Whether Dana White hates him or not, the former Bellator fighter must feel a little left out in all of this. After all, he was part of the biggest entourage in MMA, i.e., Conor McGregor’s crew. But Ariel Helwani was clear in his disdain for the Tate brothers being cajoled by White.
