Anderson Silva is considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. The Brazilian American white-collar mixed martial artist is a former UFC Middleweight Champion and held the record for the longest time in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Bout Between Silva and Chris Weidman
Silva faced Chris Weidman for this fight, and to everybody’s surprise, the inexperienced Weidman knocked out the great Silva. This UFC 162 fight ended the reign of da Silva and broke his streak of wins. This bout took place on July 6, 2013.
Weidman had a dominating start where he kept his opponent down with his punches, kneebars, and heel hooks. The young fighter continued his strikes and jabs and did a wonderful job in finally defeating the champion da Silva. He lost the match by knockout in the second round of the bout.
Chris Weidman and The Spider Once Again!
Silva and Chris Weidman faced each other again on December 28 of the same year in UFC 168. Yes, Weidman shook the MMA universe by defeating the best of best once again! The young fighter left no stone unturned to make sure that the Spider is kept pressed against the ground. The entire fight was one-sided and Weidman dominated it throughout. All the Spider’s fans were really shocked and disappointed with what they saw.
The American Brazilian was unable to regain his foothold after that. Weidman’s punches, elbows, and forearm strikes were on spot and Weidman again defeated Silva. This bout cost Anderson to break his fibula and tibia. Silva went through surgery after the match and it took him six months to return to the ring again.

The Spider up against Michael Bisping
The next defeat that the American Brazilian had to face was his fight with Bisping. Silva returned to the octagon after a gap of about 1 year. The first round of the bout was neck to neck where each of them was showing their strengths.
Bisping was waiting to execute the knockout move from the first round itself. When he got his chance, he knocked out the Spider. Though Anderson won the Fight of the Night award for this match he also had to face a defeat at UFC Night 84. Michael Bisping became the winner of the fight through a unanimous decision

Daniel Cormier defeats da Silva
This fight between Silva and UFC Light Heavyweight Daniel Cormier took place on July 9, 2016, at UFC 200. Viewers had a lot of expectations from this bout and were very excited to see two great champions inside the octagon. The fight, in the end, did not live up to the crowd’s expectations.
A couple of times the bout took pace when The Spider showed some great moves even after just returning from surgery. However, in the end, Cormier took the charge and finished the bout with a scorecard of 30-26 on all the cards of three judges. Silva again had to face defeat via a unanimous decision given by the judges.

Israel Adesanya against da Silva
After Silva’s suspension from USADA, he returned to the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC 234. This time he had to go against the 29-year-old vibrant Israel Adesanya. This bout is also one of the best that happened in the year. Silva’s fans were really contended to see Silva in the form that he showed in the fight.
All his moves, his reflexes, and his techniques were quite evident in his fighting. On the other hand, Adesanya was no less and showed incredible athleticism and the perfect fighting frames. In the end, the champion again lost the bout via unanimous decision. The amazing striker was again able to grab the Fight of the Night award for this.

Another defeat for Silva vs Jared Cannonier
One of the most recent bouts fought by the Spider was against Jared Cannonier. This match took place on May 11, 2019, at UFC 237. This was an unfortunate match that went unexpectedly and took another turn. The viewers expected this bout to be a comeback for Silva.
However, the Spider got his leg severely injured by Jared’s inner kick. Silva had to face defeat when referee Herb Dean had to step in at the 4:47 mark, declaring Cannonier the winner by TKO. Afterward, Silva admitted to having a difficult time with his right knee during training camp. He was in noticeable pain as he apologized to the crowd.

The Spider’s defeat vs Uriah Hall
The most recent bouts fought by the Spider was against Uriah Hall. This match took place on October 31, 2020, at UFC Fight Night: Hall vs. Silva. This was an extremely thrilling match where both the fighters seemed to dominate each other with their set of skills and techniques. In the end, Silva lost the bout towards the end of round four via technical knockout.
