UFC commentator and stand-up comedian Joe Rogan is considered among the gold standard when it comes to content creators. The successful podcaster has time and again used his platform to bring light to certain topics that most wouldn’t even dare to step into. Now in his latest episode, the 55-year-old has talked about the subject of toxic masculinity, which he has done multiple times earlier, while also touching on how men, by default, are forced to feel guilty. His guest Krystal Ball also expressed her perspective on it as she brought up certain aspects of our culture that have not been helpful to the general population of man. Many would find it to be an intriguing experience of a podcast.

Joe Rogan talks about toxic masculinity as a trait

Rogan during the discussion in JRE #1936, brought up a crucial aspect of how the narrative set up by the topic of toxic masculinity meant a lot of men felt guilty for their natural tendencies in life. “There’s a lot of man that feel by their very existence, that they’re bad. … thought of cultural masculinity in the things that they’re attracted to. They think they’ve been told stupid or evil.”

He then continued to state how the solution would be to just treat every individual as human beings. “There’s a thing about being a man in this world today that I think we have to look at all human beings as just human beings. And you can’t help that you were born a man and you can’t help the things that you enjoy.”

Although the 55-year-old also weighed in saying that one cannot fall down the opposite spectrum of belief by choosing to be a victim. He agreed that there were aspects of a man that were clearly negative.”This idea of toxic masculinity. Yeah, there’s like‌ a toxic aspect of man and that’s real. That’s the reality of being a male human being. You look at the history of war. It’s all started by man. ” stated the UFC commentator

To support his claim, he even exclaimed that toughness among men was also being clubbed into the whole toxic mentality part as well.“Mental toughness is f*****g important. It’s a really important quality of life and it’s been diminished to this thing that’s like a part of toxic masculinity ideology.” said Rogan.

Krystal Ball on Andrew Tate and the cultural narrative around men

The stand-up comedian’s guest Krystal Ball, had some solid points on the subject as well. Bell, who is a well-known political commentator, claimed that the narrative set by society currently has led to immense pressure on the entire gender. To drive her point home, she used the rise of controversial figure Andrew Tate as an example.

“This is where the Andrew Tates’ of the world come in and they perform this caricaturist ridiculous masculine whatever they are doing ….it again speaks to the fact, there used to be a clear sort of cultural narrative right or wrong about what it was to be a man. And at the core of that was being a provider. For a woman, it was like other things like being a mother, nurturer, and the way you look. For men it’s like about the wallet, right?” pointed out the YouTuber.

Bell went on to say that middle-class men were the ones who bore most of the brunt for such perspectives.

“I think when we’ve had an assault on the middle class on the working class where it becomes so much harder to be able to fulfill that cultural narrative of what it is supposed to be a man….from my external perspective I think that’s been really really devastating,” claimed Ball as she stated her opinion.
